This role is for a General Manager position at one of Marriott Vacations Worldwide's hotel properties. Job Requirements
- Education at bachelor’s degree level or equivalent diploma
- Minimum five years’ management experience supervising rooms or related hotel departments
- Proficiency in managing financial aspects of hotel operations including budgets and revenue management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Reliability with punctuality and regular attendance
- Experience with Windows computer systems and PMS software
- Ability to speak and understand English
- Physical ability to perform the job duties including manual dexterity and ability to travel extensively
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business or related field
- Five or more years of experience in management supervising rooms with exposure to financials and revenue management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong aptitude in financial management, financial reports, and analysis
- Punctuality and regular reliable attendance
- Computer knowledge in Windows environment and experience with various PMS systems desirable
- English speaking proficiency
Job Duties
- Assist in the development of short and long-range plans for performance and profitability of the property
- Supervise the performance of department managers and their respective departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance
- Assist with recruiting and development of staff
- Ensure that property positioning is consistent with the brand to ensure the effectiveness of the property marketing strategy
- Understand the capabilities of all THQ departments and leverage same to benefit the property
- Develop, implement, monitor and achieve the objectives of the Annual Operating Plan, including sales strategies, pricing, revenue management and the operating and capital budgets
- Develop and supervise programs that promote a positive work environment for all Associates, ensuring compliance with legal regulations
- Work with Company Leaders to improve the property including renovation
- Monitor guest satisfaction scores and feedback to establish plans for constant improvement
- Protect and enhance the value of the hotel through appropriate maintenance and capital budgeting
- Review and support all revenue generation and operating expenses and achieve increased annual RevPar
- Perform other duties as assigned by RVP – Operations or Area Manager
