The General Manager position within the RHM Environmental Services (EVS) Department offers an exciting and challenging leadership opportunity. This full-time, day-shift role is responsible for the overall management and operational excellence of EVS services across a single hospital or multiple-site hospitals. The General Manager oversees daily operational coordination, ensures compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and works collaboratively with THS Regional Managers and multiple internal stakeholders to develop budgets and implement cost management strategies. This role is pivotal in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of patient, non-patient, and public areas to support high levels of patient satisfaction.
The General Manager directs and supports all day-to-day activities of the EVS Department, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations that meet Trinity Health's strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include standardizing policies and procedures, implementing core hospitality systems like cleaning protocols and auditing tools, and continuously improving service quality. Through proactive leadership, the General Manager ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements, including JCAHO standards, and coordinates with infection control teams to uphold stringent cleanliness and safety protocols.
Financial stewardship is a critical component of this position, with accountability for preparing and managing annual program budgets, monitoring monthly financial outcomes, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to meet cost reduction and productivity improvement goals. Job Requirements
- Minimum of five to seven years progressive housekeeping and environmental services experience
- Knowledge of JCAHO and related laws and regulations
- Ability to work effectively in diverse, team-oriented environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate responsibilities effectively
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in management preferred
- Minimum five to seven years of progressive experience in housekeeping or environmental services management in a healthcare or large multi-hospital setting
- Knowledge of JCAHO standards, federal, state, and local regulations related to safety and sanitation
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Job Duties
- Oversee day-to-day management of the Regional Health Ministry Environmental Services Department
- Develop and implement standardized policies and procedures for EVS expense management and operations
- Monitor compliance with Trinity Hospitality Services core programs, including cleaning practices and auditing tools
- Conduct daily rounds to inspect environmental cleanliness and ensure customer satisfaction
- Manage program budgets, financial reporting, and cost reduction initiatives
- Lead, train, and supervise EVS staff, including hiring, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations
