The role of General Manager (GM) at Club Volo in Baltimore is a critical leadership position responsible for the overall success, profitability, and outstanding reputation of the venues. This full-time role offers a base salary ranging between $70,000 and $80,000 with the potential for variable compensation up to 50% based on profit and loss performance as well as operational key performance indicators. Reporting directly to the General Manager for the Baltimore and DC Region, the GM will take ownership of end-to-end sports and facility operations, spearhead lead generation and market activation efforts, manage venue capacity, and enhance customer experience across two Club Volo sports complexes, with a primary focus on the Brewers Hill location.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong entrepreneurial mindset paired with vast experience in hospitality, sports operations, and community engagement. The GM must skillfully balance high-level strategic planning with hands-on execution to drive revenue growth via sports programs, tournaments, memberships, sponsorships, and partnerships. Additionally, this role entails oversight of operational aspects including facility management, vendor relations, contract administration, finance, and collaboration with the Real Estate construction team for upkeep and improvements. The GM serves as an essential liaison between the site-level management and broader regional operations to optimize facility utilization and profitability across Baltimore.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred
- minimum 5 years of experience in hospitality operations or related industries
- at least 3 years in senior leadership managing P&L
- proven experience managing high-volume sports or entertainment facilities
- deep commitment to customer service and guest experience
- strong sales and partnership development skills
- financial management expertise including budgeting and KPI analysis
- experience in construction project oversight
- entrepreneurial and adaptable mindset
- ability to lead and develop diverse teams
- excellent communication and negotiation skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Hospitality Management Facility Management Sports Management or related field preferred
- 5+ years relevant experience in operations hospitality experiential marketing sports fitness or entertainment venues
- at least 3 years in senior P&L leadership role
- demonstrated facility operations management blending service excellence with high-volume traffic
- strong customer-centric approach with commitment to service excellence
- proficient in sales partnership and revenue optimization with a strong local network
- excellent financial acumen with proven record in revenue growth and expense management
- experience overseeing construction renovation or capital projects
- proven ability to launch and operate new business units or locations with entrepreneurial mindset
- experience managing multi-use recreational facilities or large social spaces or knowledge in sports programming is a plus
Job Duties
- Provide day-to-day oversight of facility operations ensuring excellence in sports programming and hospitality services
- manage facility calendars and scheduling
- develop and implement Club Volo brand and operational standards across customer service facility maintenance food and beverage and event management
- partner with city and national teams for staffing scheduling and inventory systems
- foster a culture of exceptional customer service and memorable guest experiences
- ensure compliance with health safety legal and licensing requirements
- own and manage full facility P&L driving profitability and financial sustainability
- lead revenue-generating initiatives including sports programming tournaments daily play events memberships sponsorships and F&B operations
- build pricing strategies promotional plans and partnership opportunities to maximize facility utilization
- analyze financial results KPIs and market trends for growth and cost optimization
- optimize revenue per court and event space maximizing venue utilization through sports and non-traditional events
- build and execute market-specific activation plans with marketing team to create buzz and community engagement
- drive top-line revenue through tournaments group and individual rentals memberships events sponsorships and partnerships
- cultivate relationships with local businesses sponsors vendors and community partners
- lead negotiations and oversee contracts with vendors sponsors and event organizers
- seek new business lines or enhancements to position the venue as a market leader
- lead coach and develop a diverse team in operations guest services sales and events
