Job Description

Sodexo Corporate Services is a global leader in providing integrated food services and facilities management to diverse industries including corporate, healthcare, education, and more. With a commitment to enhancing quality of life and delivering exceptional experiences, Sodexo operates with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and community engagement. Known for its inclusive culture and focus on employee development, Sodexo offers employees fair treatment, respect, and an environment where everyone's ideas and opinions matter. The company values diversity and inclusion as core principles, fostering workplaces where all employees feel valued and are encouraged to be their authentic selves.

This particular opportunity is for a General Manager / Chef Manager position at a prestigious corporate dining location in Allentown, PA. The role is unique in that it offers a weekday-only schedule, Monday through Friday, with no nights or weekends, enabling an excellent work-life balance. This position is ideal for experienced culinary professionals seeking leadership roles without sacrificing personal time. As the on-site leader and executive chef, you will have full operational responsibility for a vibrant and dynamic food program, overseeing a corporate café that serves breakfast and lunch, managing catering operations for important meetings and events, and supervising two micro-markets, one located on-site and another nearby.

The General Manager / Chef Manager is the primary on-site decision-maker and culinary visionary. This leadership role offers creative freedom to design innovative menus, lead catering initiatives, and develop grab-and-go offerings tailored to client preferences. The successful candidate will build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and engagement while leading a dedicated team of three hourly employees. The role requires balancing hands-on culinary work and administrative responsibilities with a target split of 70% culinary and 30% management and HR tasks such as scheduling and team development.

Additional incentives include a work schedule from 6 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday, with some occasional evenings but no weekend work, providing a stable and predictable routine. Sodexo offers a competitive and equitable salary that reflects your education, skills, and experience. Furthermore, the position comes with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision care coverage, wellness programs, 401(k) plan with company matching, paid time off, company holidays, career growth opportunities, and tuition reimbursement.

Candidates are expected to be passionate culinary leaders with strong operational skills and a love for fresh food. The ideal leader thrives in fast-paced environments, is both strategic and hands-on, and is dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences while fostering a positive team atmosphere. Sodexo is committed to equal employment opportunities and supports diversity and inclusion across all its locations. If you are ready to shape the culinary program and lead with creativity and integrity, Sodexo encourages you to apply today and join a company that values both its employees and the communities it serves.
