Job Description

The General Manager plays a critical leadership role within Hardee's Family Restaurants, overseeing the daily management and operational functions of one restaurant within this network. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the General Manager supervises Restaurant Managers, Shift Leaders, and Crew members, ensuring each team member performs their duties effectively and aligns with the company’s standards. This position carries significant responsibility in driving the restaurant's financial performance by managing profit maximization, cost control, and resource allocation. The General Manager must ensure that all operations adhere to the Business Plan specific to their store and that the restaurant consistently delivers a quality product and superior customer experience.

This role demands a leader who can manage recruitment, training, and performance management processes to build and maintain a highly motivated workforce that is equipped to meet and exceed guest expectations. The General Manager also oversees scheduling to ensure sufficient staffing based on guest flow, conducts regular crew meetings to reinforce operations, promotions, safety, and security protocols, and guarantees compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations. Facility upkeep and equipment maintenance also fall within their scope to preserve the restaurant's environment and operational readiness.

Further, the General Manager leads local marketing initiatives to boost store visibility and sales while maintaining proper inventory controls to meet company standards. With responsibility for all cash procedures, adherence to security protocols is vital to protect financial assets. Leadership includes modeling and promoting company values centered around integrity and customer satisfaction while fostering teamwork and a positive work culture. This full-time position is suited for a self-motivated, organized leader with excellent communication and problem-solving skills who can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic quick service restaurant environment.

Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of college in business, hospitality management or related field or equivalent related experience
  • 3-5 years management experience in a quick service dining concept
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Basic knowledge of computers
  • Financial/analytical aptitude including planning, budgeting, scheduling and P&L management
  • Ability to problem solve toward a positive conclusion
  • Self motivated
  • Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee restaurant operations

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of college in business, hospitality management or related field or equivalent related experience
  • College degree preferred
  • 3-5 years management experience in a quick service dining concept
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of communicating effectively with customers, staff and co-workers
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Basic knowledge of computers
  • Financial/analytical aptitude including planning, budgeting, scheduling and P&L management
  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Ability to problem solve toward a positive conclusion
  • High sense of urgency
  • Self motivated

  • Proven ability to achieve and maintain desired results
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee restaurant operations

Job Duties

  • Maximizes financial performance and profit of restaurant
  • analyzes business performance initiating appropriate corrective actions when deviations occur from financial expectations
  • Ensures restaurant consistently provides a quality product and customer service experience that delivers total customer satisfaction
  • Ensures the quality, service and cleanliness measures meet or exceed company standards
  • Ensures sufficient staff is scheduled to operate the restaurant and accommodate guest flow
  • Ensuring recruitment, selection, orientation, training, and performance management functions are carried out in accordance to company standards and expectations
  • Conduct crew meetings as needed to discuss operation procedures, promotions, safety, security, training, etc.
  • Complies with company policies, practices and procedures and communicates all changes to team members
  • Ensure all sanitation, safety and security policies and procedures are recognized and enforced to ensure a safe environment for all
  • Maintains building, equipment as well as reports and records based on company standards and in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Leads local store marketing efforts
  • Maintain an adequate supply of products and items necessary to operate the restaurant
  • Control inventory to meet company GAP standard
  • Responsible for all cash
  • Ensure that cash procedures are adhered to
  • Models and encourages shared values by focusing on customer satisfaction and establishing and maintain a high integrity workforce
