Job Description

The Charmed Table, LLC is a full-service catering company based in Baltimore, Maryland, that specializes in delivering nutritious, high-quality prepared meals to group homes, assisted living facilities, and other supportive housing programs. With a mission to provide consistent, timely, and safe meal services, The Charmed Table is committed to helping its community thrive through food. Established as a trusted food service provider, the company prides itself on delivering excellence across all facets of its operations, ensuring that customers receive meals that meet both nutritional needs and quality standards.

This role of General Manager - Catering Operations at The Charmed Table is a critical leadership position responsible for managing day-to-day operations, including catering, delivery, meal programs, and related food services. The General Manager oversees multiple service lines such as catering events, group home meal deliveries, DoorDash and third-party delivery platforms, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and profitability. This position requires a high level of operational discipline, including staff supervision, cost control, inventory management, food safety compliance, and the implementation of operational systems to optimize performance. The individual in this role is accountable to the Chief Operations Officer and works under a full-time, non-exempt W-2 hourly employment schedule, typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential schedule adjustments based on business needs.

The compensation for this role ranges from $55,000 to $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated performance. Incentive compensation may also be offered, including performance bonuses, profit participation, or growth-based incentives, subject to company approval and achievement of key benchmarks. Travel is anticipated to be about 15% of the time, reflecting involvement in off-site events, customer locations, and program support.

The General Manager - Catering Operations is responsible for the seamless execution of food service operations spanning ordering, production, delivery, and post-event follow-up. This individual must ensure that menus conform to approved recipes and portion sizes, food safety standards such as HACCP are strictly adhered to, and all operational documentation is accurate and timely. Key responsibilities include managing daily workflows, supervising and coaching staff, maintaining food quality and presentation, controlling costs and minimizing waste, and fostering strong customer service and communication. The role requires proactive problem-solving abilities, the capacity to implement leadership directives efficiently, and the aptitude to coordinate closely with outsourced administrative functions for invoicing, HR, marketing, and billing processes.

The position demands strong competencies in managing fast-paced, high-volume catering and meal program environments, where attention to detail, operational consistency, and quality assurance are paramount. The General Manager must oversee key performance indicators such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, labor and food cost targets, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction metrics. In addition, this role requires physical stamina to work in an active food service setting, performing tasks such as prolonged standing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in variable temperature environments. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for special events is also essential.

Overall, the General Manager - Catering Operations is a pivotal member of The Charmed Table leadership team, tasked with delivering excellence in food service operations, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the company’s mission to serve its community through exceptional meal programs and catering services. This role offers a rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional passionate about food service management, operational efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction within a mission-driven organization.
