The General Manager position for the marina overseen by Guest Services, Inc. is a pivotal leadership role charged with managing the marina's full scope of daily operations and administrative functions. The role involves direct supervision of all non-exempt and professional staff members and requires overseeing contract deliverables with the National Park Service while managing the unique challenges posed by fluctuating water levels. The General Manager is responsible for promoting the marina to increase profitability, ensuring a superior guest experience, and driving business strategies that span multiple departments including lodging, rentals, food and beverage, retail, marketing, facilities management, project oversight, and environmental compliance. This leadership position demands a strategic thinker capable of developing and executing operational plans aligned with company goals to achieve operational excellence and sustainable business results.
Compensation for this full-time role begins at $92,000 annually and may be adjusted based on experience. Housing availability is contingent upon vacancy. As an essential onsite role, the successful candidate must be willing to relocate and maintain a strong physical presence at the property. This position requires excellent organizational capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, a commitment to health and safety standards, and the ability to problem solve effectively under dynamic conditions. The General Manager will lead all staffing functions including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management, as well as ensuring compliance with guest services and environmental standards. This role also carries financial accountability including management of budgeting, profit and loss statements, invoice verification, sales reporting, inventory control, and merchandising to enhance revenue streams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with marina and dock maintenance equipment is necessary, along with certifications in first aid and CPR preferred. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of marine experience, financial acumen, and a passion for customer service excellence to drive the marina’s success in a competitive market.

Job Duties
- Lead overall property operations, oversee daily execution, opening and closing procedures, and ensure compliance with company policies, contract obligations, and environmental standards
- Develop strategic and operational plans to support division and company initiatives and achieve operational excellence and business results
- Supervise and schedule staff, train new employees, delegate assignments, monitor staff performance, and manage disciplinary actions
- Perform new hire procedures including paperwork and payroll processing
- Manage unusual events to maintain company standards
- Create and implement preventive maintenance programs for infrastructure and equipment and enforce risk management policies for boat scheduling, slip leasing, and collections
- Serve as the point of contact for customer issues and resolve complaints
- Review business indicators to identify problems and opportunities, and coach operations management team accordingly
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of facilities and equipment
- prepare incident reports and provide training on reporting procedures
- Monitor operations for safety, compliance, and quality control, and escalate unusual events as necessary
- Verify invoice payments and resolve discrepancies
- manage petty cash and prepare sales and operating reports
- Manage profit and loss statements and annual budgeting
- Oversee stock, inventory control, and visual merchandising in food and beverage and retail operations
- Promote the property through marketing and guest programs to increase revenue
