Job Description

Best Western San Diego Zoo / SeaWorld Inn & Suites is a distinguished hotel located in the vibrant city of San Diego, renowned for its proximity to major attractions like the San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld. As a part of the global Best Western brand, this property offers guests a blend of comfort, convenience, and exceptional service. Known for its commitment to hospitality excellence, the hotel caters to a diverse array of travelers, including families, business guests, and tourists seeking memorable experiences in Southern California. The hotel upholds the brand’s standards of quality, community engagement, and guest satisfaction while providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

We are currently seeking an experienced, driven, and hands-on General Manager to helm the Best Western San Diego Zoo / SeaWorld Inn & Suites. This leadership role is crafted for a hospitality professional who thrives within a branded hotel environment and excels at balancing outstanding guest experiences with sustainable financial performance. The General Manager will be pivotal in steering the hotel towards operational excellence, maximizing revenue, optimizing costs, and fostering a culture of accountability and pride among the team.

The ideal candidate brings a minimum of three years of General Manager experience, preferably within branded hotels, with Best Western experience highly favored. This individual must be financially savvy, operationally disciplined, and adept at communicating results to ownership, corporate stakeholders, and internal teams. The role demands a proactive and confident leader who can cultivate a positive working environment, inspire collaboration among departments, and implement strategies that elevate guest satisfaction and loyalty.

As General Manager, you will hold full accountability for the hotel’s overall performance—spanning operational effectiveness, financial results, and the cultural environment. You will be the chief ambassador of the Best Western brand standards at the property, ensuring every guest interaction is marked by service excellence and professionalism.

The compensation package for this role is competitive, with a base salary range between $115,000 and $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, a quarterly incentive plan is offered, which can award up to 50% of the quarterly earned salary based on performance metrics. Although relocation assistance is not provided, candidates willing to relocate at their own expense will be considered.

The position offers substantial benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) retirement plan with company matching; paid vacation, holidays, and personal days; discounted hotel stays across the Best Western portfolio; and numerous career growth opportunities within a people-first, innovative culture dedicated to excellence.

This role is perfect for a General Manager who seeks full ownership of their property, embraces operational discipline, and takes pride in cultivating a high-performance team and achieving strong business outcomes. If you are passionate about driving results through exceptional leadership and guest service in the hospitality industry, the Best Western San Diego Zoo / SeaWorld Inn & Suites invites you to apply and join our dedicated team.
