Job Description
TSFR Schostak Family Restaurants is a well-established company encompassing a range of restaurant brands dedicated to providing exceptional dining experiences with a focus on community involvement, quality service, and a positive work environment. Known for its commitment to excellence and the development of its TEAM Members, TSFR emphasizes a culture based on its Roadmap, which highlights its Core Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Core Values. The company is recognized for its strong leadership, business acumen, and focus on creating a guest-obsessed culture that fosters growth and opportunity for its employees. The General Manager position at TSFR is a key leadership role within the organization, reporting directly to the Area Director. This role is responsible for overseeing both operational and financial performance at a single restaurant location, managing human capital including managers and hourly TEAM Members, and ensuring that the company’s standards are upheld in every aspect of the restaurant’s functions.
As a General Manager, the individual must have prior experience as an Assistant General Manager or a Unit General Manager in a similar organization, with completed Apple II Management training. The role demands a leader with exemplary restaurant operations skills, superior business acumen, and the ability to implement and integrate continuous change effectively within a high-volume environment. This position calls for someone who is not only focused on achieving the business goals set out by supervisors but also dedicated to developing a positive organizational culture that aligns with the company’s core values. The General Manager acts as a role model, coach, and strategic thinker, responsible for managing everything from guest service and staff development to inventory control and compliance with legal requirements.
Key responsibilities include managing and maintaining the restaurant environment to ensure prompt and friendly service, building a culture that reflects the company’s vision and mission, responding promptly to guest complaints, enforcing alcohol awareness policies, and engaging with the community to enhance the restaurant’s visibility and sales. Additionally, the General Manager oversees recruitment, training, and performance management of TEAM Members, ensuring the right staffing levels and maintaining a motivated and highly trained team. Financial and operational controls are fundamental to this role, including managing budgets, ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations, performing inventory controls, and supervising all administrative duties related to the restaurant’s operations.
The General Manager must possess strong multitasking skills, stress tolerance, adaptability, self-motivation, and accountability. Physical demands include the ability to stand and walk for most of the workday and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Mental demands include the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while effectively communicating and managing change. The role also involves occasional travel to other locations as needed. Overall, this position is pivotal in driving the success of the restaurant through exceptional leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to delivering a superior guest experience while fostering a supportive and growth-oriented workplace for all TEAM Members.
