Job Description

TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants is a distinguished operator in the restaurant industry, known for delivering quality dining experiences through a strong commitment to its Core Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Core Values. The company oversees a variety of restaurant locations, focusing on operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and community engagement. Their approach to leadership values not only the financial and operational performance of each unit but also the development and well-being of their TEAM Members. This makes the company a dynamic employer that prioritizes both business success and team culture for long-term growth and sustainability.

The General Manager (GM) role at TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants is a pivotal leadership position that requires oversight of both operational and financial aspects of a restaurant unit. Reporting directly to the Area Director, the GM is responsible for managing Managers and Hourly TEAM Members, ensuring the delivery of prompt and friendly service according to company guidelines, and fostering a positive workplace culture. The role demands a high level of leadership competency, operational expertise, and business acumen. The GM must demonstrate alignment with the company's strategic roadmap and values, showing ability to inspire teamwork, community involvement, and consistent guest satisfaction.

The GM's responsibilities include comprehensive management of the restaurant environment, from inventory control and product quality to safety, security, and maintenance of cleanliness and sanitation standards. The General Manager also plays a critical role in performance management by recruiting qualified candidates, training and developing management staff, and maintaining adherence to company policies and standards. They conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions to ensure the continuous professional growth of their teams.

Financial stewardship remains a vital part of the General Manager's role, including budget management, controlling assets, ensuring compliance with regulations, monitoring service contracts, overseeing capital expenditures, and completing timely and accurate administrative paperwork. The General Manager must also be adept at analyzing operational systems for continual improvement and managing cash handling procedures to protect company assets.

To qualify for this role, candidates typically have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Hospitality, or related fields along with substantial multi-unit restaurant management experience with direct P&L responsibility. Prior experience as an Assistant General Manager or Unit General Manager, completion of Apple II Management training, and strong leadership skills are essential. The ability to multitask, manage stress, adapt to change, and maintain accountability are key personal attributes expected from the ideal candidate.

Working as a General Manager at TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants involves physical demands such as standing and walking for extensive periods, lifting objects up to 50 pounds, and using fine finger dexterity for tasks like typing or operating a cash register. Moreover, the GM must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, engaging with guests and staff effectively through clear communication both verbally and in writing.

This role offers the opportunity to be a part of a reputable restaurant company that values community engagement, employee development, and operational excellence, providing a fulfilling career path for passionate hospitality leaders who seek to make a tangible impact on their team and customer experience.
