Alice's Restaurant - A Caring Cafe is a unique culinary establishment located in Stuart, Florida, operated by ARC of the Treasure Coast. We are currently seeking a skilled General Manager & Head Chef to lead and oversee the full operations of Alice's Restaurant. This daytime role is designed for a hands-on culinary professional who is passionate about both kitchen leadership and restaurant management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the day-to-day restaurant activities while simultaneously fostering growth in our catering and community events services. Key responsibilities include managing kitchen operations with a focus on maintaining consistent food quality and presentation, leading front-of-house management, and driving staff development through effective training and mentorship. Additionally, the General Manager & Head Chef will handle budgeting tasks, including food, labor, and operational costs, as well as vendor relations and inventory management. This position provides a unique chance to exercise creative control over menu development, including specials and seasonal offerings, and to play a pivotal role in expanding catering and special event services.

Job Requirements

  • ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to pass a Level II background screening

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in restaurant leadership (General Manager, Executive Chef, or similar role)
  • Strong culinary background with hands-on kitchen leadership experience
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, food cost, labor cost, and inventory
  • Experience training and leading diverse teams
  • Interest in growing catering or expanded food service programs preferred
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills

Job Duties

  • Lead all daily restaurant operations with a focus on quality, service, and efficiency
  • Serve as hands-on culinary leader ensuring consistent food quality and presentation
  • Manage hiring, training, scheduling, and performance of restaurant staff
  • Oversee food, labor, and operating budgets
