Job Description
BKC is a well-established restaurant brand committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences while maintaining profitability and operational excellence. With a strong focus on community engagement and customer satisfaction, BKC has built a reputation for its friendly service, high-quality food, and clean facilities. As a leading player in the restaurant industry, BKC values innovation, teamwork, and leadership, providing employees with opportunities for growth and development in a dynamic work environment. The company operates multiple restaurant locations, each striving to uphold its brand standards and operational efficiency to ensure a consistent and enjoyable guest experience. BKC is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce where all team members can thrive.
The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) is the executive leader responsible for the overall management of a single BKC restaurant. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the RGM oversees the daily operations, leading a team that typically consists of an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and between 20 to 45 team members. The primary accountability of the RGM is to manage the restaurant’s profitability, guest satisfaction, people development, and operational standards. This role demands a hands-on leader skilled in profit and loss (P&L) management, customer service excellence, team building, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
In the area of profitability, the RGM actively manages key financial metrics to drive revenue growth and cost control. This includes reviewing the restaurant’s P&L statements to identify opportunities for increasing profitability while ensuring resources are used efficiently. The RGM also drives sales by promoting a culture of proactive guest service and continuous team development.
On the guest experience front, the RGM ensures the team consistently exceeds guest expectations by delivering accurate, friendly, and fast service in a clean and welcoming environment. This includes responding promptly to guest feedback and resolving issues effectively to maintain high customer satisfaction levels. The RGM also engages with the local community to attract new guests and support local marketing efforts.
In terms of people management, the RGM leads recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to build a high-performing team. The role involves training and certifying new team members, as well as implementing recognition programs to motivate staff. Coaching and feedback are integral to developing the capabilities of individual team members, assistant managers, and shift coordinators, which directly contributes to improved restaurant performance.
Operational responsibilities of the RGM include managing labor costs through optimal scheduling, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and company policies, and maintaining brand standards. The RGM is also expected to fill in for Assistant Managers or Hourly Shift Coordinators as needed to keep the restaurant running smoothly. This position requires availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, as well as the flexibility to work irregular hours when necessary. Overall, the Restaurant General Manager plays a critical role in BKC’s ongoing success by balancing financial goals with a commitment to exceptional guest service and team leadership.
