The Restaurant General Manager role at BD's Mongolian Grill is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure the delivery of high-quality food and service standards. The manager will lead a team of food and beverage professionals, driving performance through coaching, training, and effective leadership practices. This role demands a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of restaurant management principles, including inventory control, cost management, staffing, health and safety compliance, and customer service excellence.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent required
  • must be able to read and write fluently in English
  • minimum 2 years experience in food and beverage management
  • knowledge and experience with inventory management and cost control
  • working knowledge of alcoholic beverages
  • experience with food preparation and presentation
  • preferred experience in restaurant staff management and development
  • knowledge of basic accounting principles preferred
  • ability to demonstrate planning and forecasting skills
  • proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • experience with restaurant-specific software
  • ServSafe certification
  • ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours continuously
  • able to work regularly up to 50 hours per week
  • ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • must possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment
  • able to tolerate workplace exposure to heat, cold, and odors

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • associate degree or higher preferred
  • must be able to read and write fluently in English
  • must demonstrate 2 years previous experience in food and beverage management
  • demonstrated knowledge and experience with managing inventory and cost control
  • in-depth working knowledge of alcoholic beverages
  • food preparation and presentation experience
  • experience in restaurant/food service staff management and development preferred
  • demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices preferred
  • must be able to demonstrate knowledge of planning and forecasting
  • proficiency in relevant computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • experience with restaurant-specific software including point-of-sale registers and business metric applications
  • ServSafe certification required

Job Duties

  • monitor adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards in kitchen and restaurant

  • ensure adherence to set recipes
  • ensure quality of food and beverage presentation
  • interact with customers to establish positive customer relations and to ensure all inquiries and complaints are handled promptly
  • determine and execute operating improvements
  • schedule food and beverage deliveries
  • check the quality of deliveries and documentation
  • ensure the correct storage of supplies
  • arrange for maintenance and repairs of equipment and services
  • identify and evaluate competitors
  • remain current with trends in the restaurant industry
  • perform other duties as assigned
