Job Description
Shore Haven Inn, located in the heart of Falmouth, Cape Cod, is a historically iconic seasonal property that has recently undergone a comprehensive renovation and redesign to offer a luxury boutique experience unlike any other in the region. This unique hotel combines the charm of Cape Cod with modern sophistication and personalized service, making it a premier destination for guests seeking exceptional hospitality during the summer and beyond. The inn's location provides guests with easy access to the beach and downtown Falmouth, enhancing its allure as a top seasonal getaway spot.
The General Manager position at Shore Haven Inn is a pivotal leadership role that includes the exciting opportunity for on-site housing, catering to both seasonal and year-round candidates, with a preference for a committed long-term leader eager to grow alongside the property. This role is best suited for an individual who is passionate about hospitality, driven by revenue growth, and dedicated to maintaining high standards of guest service. The General Manager will oversee all hotel operations, including executing the Lark breakfast program, ensuring a seamless experience for guests from check-in to departure, and building a high-performing team that reflects the company's core values.
This role requires a dynamic leader who can effectively manage the balance between revenue growth and expense control while fostering an atmosphere of excellence. The General Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining the annual business plan, which encompasses the operating budget, staffing plan, marketing strategies, and capital expenditures. Attention to detail and strategic oversight will be critical in managing internal controls related to cash and inventories, as well as optimizing sales and marketing initiatives to maximize revenue. Relationship management with property owners, management companies, and key hotel accounts is also a fundamental component of the role.
Beyond operational oversight, the General Manager is charged with nurturing a corporate culture that champions the company’s values of integrity, concern for others, collaboration, accountability, and hospitality soul. These values are imperative in creating a positive work environment and delivering memorable guest experiences. The ideal candidate will possess superior leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate, mentor, and counsel team members with an emphasis on high morale and guest satisfaction.
The position demands excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, alongside strong problem-solving capabilities and sound judgment to handle guest and employee concerns professionally and efficiently. Additionally, the ability to multitask and maintain composure under pressure is crucial for success in this fast-paced hospitality environment. Proficiency in using technology, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite, will support daily administrative and operational functions.
Candidates for the General Manager role should have a minimum of three years of leadership or supervisory experience within the hospitality industry or equivalent, along with a college degree or substantial relevant work experience. Physical demands include extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. This role offers not only a competitive salary but also an enriched professional environment committed to employee growth and a supportive team culture.
Joining Shore Haven Inn means becoming part of a team that values each employee and guest, fostering lifelong memories in one of New England’s premier summer destinations. If you are a hospitality professional looking to lead a beautifully reimagined property with a rich history and distinct luxury appeal, this opportunity is designed for you.
