Job Description
Flynn Group began its journey into the Panera system in 2015 with the acquisition of 47 cafes. Since then, it has expanded significantly, becoming the second-largest Panera franchisee worldwide. Flynn Panera continues to grow through opening new stores and acquiring other franchise operators. Flynn Panera operates as a franchisee of Panera Bread, a renowned bakery-cafe chain celebrated for its fresh, wholesome food offerings. The business model is decentralized, with each geographic area managed by a Market Leader. Area Directors oversee multiple units within specific regions, while General Managers handle the daily running of individual cafes. Assistant Managers support these efforts by managing departments and assisting with everyday responsibilities, complemented by Team Managers who help lead the cafe teams.
Flynn Panera is part of the larger Flynn Group, founded in 1999 by Greg Flynn, which has grown to be the world’s largest franchise operator. Flynn Group boasts a diverse portfolio of iconic brands including Applebee’s, Arby’s, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, and Planet Fitness. Their mission is to be the premier operator within each brand, driven by core values centered on genuine care for people, a champion's mindset, and collective success. Flynn Panera's leadership team brings more than 190 years of combined experience in the restaurant industry, underpinning its commitment to excellence and growth.
The General Manager role at Flynn Panera offers a unique opportunity to join a thriving, fast-paced environment where food quality and guest experience are paramount. General Managers supervise up to 60 employees, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service that reflects Panera’s standards and culture. The role involves leading a team of professionals passionate about food that is as good for the body as it is for the palate. As a key figure in the business, General Managers influence the cafe’s profitability, customer satisfaction, and engagement with the local community.
Core responsibilities include upholding high standards for cleanliness, sanitation, food quality, and facility management. Leaders are expected to cultivate a positive work culture aligned with Flynn Panera’s values, nurture talent development, and uphold safety and regulatory compliance. With a strong emphasis on coaching, counseling, and effective team management, the position is designed for individuals seeking career advancement within the restaurant industry. Flynn Panera values experienced restaurant professionals who demonstrate stable employment histories, meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional interpersonal skills. The role encourages a "Run it Like You Own It" mentality, where General Managers take pride and ownership in every aspect of their cafe’s operations.
Joining Flynn Panera as a General Manager is more than a job—it is an invitation to make a tangible difference in communities while working alongside great people who prioritize fresh food and unmatched service. The company offers competitive salaries, profit sharing, health benefits, meal discounts, 401(k) plans with company match, paid vacation, and opportunities for professional growth. Flynn Panera prides itself on fostering an inclusive environment that supports the growth and well-being of its employees while maintaining a dynamic and rewarding workplace. This is the ideal role for someone dedicated to growth, leadership, and making a meaningful impact in the foodservice industry.
