Municipal's founding gym location serves as the cornerstone for the brand's standards and operational excellence. As the Founding General Manager at Municipal, you will be an essential leader overseeing the overall performance and daily operations of this flagship gym. Your leadership will directly influence the success and growth of the gym, ensuring that all aspects of the facility – from sales to fitness coaching and operations – are executed at the highest level. This role requires you to cultivate strong leaders within your team, focusing on empowering department heads in Sales, Operations, and Fitness to drive superior member experiences.

In this role, you will be responsible for setting the operational rhythms that enable smooth, clean, and consistent service delivery, creating a gym environment that members love and where the team feels pride in their work. You will help establish and elevate standards for how Municipal trains its staff, operates its facilities, and engages with the community. As a founding leader, you will also play a pivotal role in scaling the brand as it expands into new states, with locations already secured beyond the initial gym.

This position reports directly to the Municipal CEO and works closely with local senior leadership from EōS Fitness for operational support and resources. You will oversee a direct team including the Membership Director, Operations Director, and Personal Training Director, ensuring that each leader has clear goals and the support necessary to excel. Your focus will be on driving growth and profitability while maintaining a premium member experience through disciplined management of staffing, scheduling, and expenses.

Key outcomes for the first 6 to 12 months include achieving the gym’s growth and profitability targets, building a strong and cohesive leadership team, and establishing consistent operating routines such as floor leadership and business reviews to sustain high standards. The General Manager will also drive business and financial leadership, member experience, brand execution, operational excellence, and talent development. You will use member feedback and key performance indicators like membership growth, profitability, member satisfaction, and team retention to continuously improve operations and strategic initiatives.

If you are a seasoned leader with extensive experience in multi-department operations, particularly in premium fitness, hospitality, private clubs, or multi-unit retail environments, this exciting career opportunity offers a chance to lead a growing fitness brand with high-impact responsibilities and competitive compensation. The salary range for this full-time role is $110,000 to $130,000 DOE plus an annual bonus estimated at 25% of the base. The position requires flexibility for evenings and weekends, computer proficiency, and physical stamina for managing floor operations.
