The General Manager at Wright's Barbecue plays a pivotal role as the primary leader responsible for the day-to-day management of a store. This position requires a proactive individual capable of overseeing all operational aspects, including staff management, inventory control, financial performance, and guest satisfaction. The General Manager works closely with the leadership team and assists in coordinating operational goals such as food costs, labor, sales, and profitability. This role includes coaching assistant managers, resolving customer concerns, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The General Manager also acts as the primary resource for all Point of Sale (POS) system-related issues, ensuring smooth transaction processes. This hands-on leadership role demands a blend of strategic planning and practical involvement, including scheduling, training, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food quality. Ideal candidates will bring several years of restaurant management experience, excellent communication skills, and financial acumen to sustain and grow the store's success while upholding the reputation of Wright's Barbecue.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in restaurant management
  • Proven ability to manage staff and budgets
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Strong leadership skills

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • Financial understanding of budgeting and cost control
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds occasionally
  • Capable of standing and walking for long periods
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of restaurant management or multi-unit leadership experience
  • Proven ability to manage staff, budgets, and operations in a high-volume environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and operational best practices
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and POS systems (Toast experience preferred)
  • Financial acumen with budgeting and cost control experience
  • Self-motivated with a hands-on management approach

Job Duties

  • Oversee and manage all areas of store operations
  • Serve as the primary resource for all Toast/POS-related issues
  • Lead and coach Assistant Managers to ensure personal and professional growth
  • Manage shifts including scheduling, planning, and maintaining quality and cleanliness
  • Assist with opening and closing duties as needed
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment and complete accident reports
  • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality and service
