This role is a General Manager position based in Little Canada, Minnesota, offering a compensation range between $20.82 and $39.77 per hour, subject to local and state minimum wage regulations. The General Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the overall financial and operational performance of the store. This position demands a dynamic individual who can inspire team engagement, uphold a positive and healthy work culture, and drive continuous growth and development within the team.

The General Manager drives the store’s success by maximizing sales and traffic growth, managing supply chain and inventory efficiently, and ensuring an outstanding guest experience. This role involves setting clear expectations and responsibilities for team members, holding them accountable, and ensuring compliance with company policies and standards. The General Manager leads by example, fostering a culture that supports Caribou’s purpose of creating day-making experiences and serving with love.

Success in this role requires strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and a commitment to operational excellence. The General Manager must be a confident communicator who can handle challenging conversations with empathy, manage budgets and financial inputs, and consistently pursue sales and profit goals. The General Manager must be adaptable, able to manage schedules effectively, and available to work diverse hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical requirements include the ability to bend, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and health protocols.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years restaurant, retail, or guest service management experience or combined education and experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Ability to work full-time including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to learn new systems and tools
  • Ability to bend, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for 4 to 8 hours
  • Ability to accomplish physical requirements with or without accommodations

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years restaurant, retail, or guest service management experience or combined education and experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Ability to work full-time including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to learn new business systems and tools
  • ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days preferred
  • Experience with sales building, Profit & Loss statements, recruitment, and training preferred
  • Aptitude for store systems such as Toast, CrunchTime, GoSpotCheck, EcoSure, TeamworX, Medallia, Workday, Beekeeper
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Ensure the store is fully staffed and schedules are up to date and effective
  • Develop team engagement strategies and foster a culture of growth
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team through goal setting and accountability
  • Execute and complete role-based training and onboarding initiatives
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and recognition to team members
  • Model and uphold company policies and maintain a safe environment
  • Use assigned systems and tools appropriately and timely
  • Inspire team to deliver outstanding guest experiences and foster a culture of excellence
  • Resolve employee, customer relations, and supply chain issues promptly
  • Drive improvement in guest satisfaction, speed of service, and loyalty
  • Lead store performance to drive sales, profitability, and operational excellence
  • Manage scheduling, inventory, and asset management efficiently
  • Utilize financial knowledge to manage store budgets and analyze trends
  • Ensure cash flow growth and make budget adjustments as needed
  • Focus team energy on meeting and exceeding sales goals
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and health protocol standards
