The Hotel General Manager role at WoodSpring Suites, Meridian, is a prime opportunity for a dynamic and experienced individual passionate about hospitality and hotel operations. The employment is full-time and offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 annually, depending on experience, along with additional bonus opportunities.

Your responsibilities will span from recruiting, training, and motivating a team of 6 to 12 staff members to maintain a guest-ready environment where cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction are top priorities. You will oversee all hotel operations including budget management, payroll control, and adherence to brand standards, ensuring the property meets key financial and operational goals. In addition, your expertise in sales and marketing will be key as you build relationships within the local community, promote the hotel strategically, and lead initiatives designed to increase occupancy rates.

Flexibility is essential in this position since you may be required to assist with housekeeping duties, complete laundry tasks, and cover shifts during unexpected employee absences. You must also be knowledgeable about emergency procedures to safeguard both guest and property. This role requires effective communication, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, making it vital to the success and growth of the hotel.

Job Requirements

  • Perform tasks involving kneeling, squatting, sitting, standing, bending and twisting for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 20lbs regularly, occasionally up to 50lbs

Job Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • 1+ years of experience as a hotel general manager
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Recruit, train, and motivate a dedicated team of 6-12 staff members
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance to ensure the team achieves outstanding results
  • Ensure the hotel is always guest ready by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and swiftly addressing any guest concerns
  • Manage and address guest reviews to maintain review standards
  • Follow brand guidelines, meet operational deadlines, manage budgets, control labor, occupancy, and P&L's to facilitate successful hotel operations
  • Network within the local community to promote the property and build strong relationships with competitive properties, local organizations, and key clients
  • Lead in-house guest sales and marketing initiatives to increase occupancy
  • Assist with housekeeping in rooms as needed and daily completion of laundry duties and public space needs
  • Flexible for covering employee shifts as needed to ensure operational continuity in the event of unexpected absences
  • Know and follow property emergency procedures and ensure the security needs of the property and guests are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned
