As a General Manager at Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa Downtown, you will have the unique responsibility and opportunity to lead a property that seamlessly integrates local culture, exceptional service, and thoughtful design to create a memorable guest experience. As General Manager, you will supervise your management team including sales directors to effectively implement sales and marketing plans, targeting group bookings and various market segments. Your leadership will extend to hiring, training, and developing employees to create a motivated workforce that fosters employee retention and reduces turnover. Your ability to use industry-standard technology platforms effectively will also be critical to running efficient hotel operations and achieving performance benchmarks.

Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 plus years of documented franchised select service hotel management experience
- IHG experience preferred
- Ability to leverage provided technology to effectively manage the property
- Must possess ability to take direction and manage employees independently
- Attention to detail to meet ownership's high standards
- Ability to supervise, delegate, and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to remain calm and in control in emergency or difficult situations
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 2 plus years of documented franchised select service hotel management experience
- Preferred experience with IHG brand standards
- Ability to leverage technology to manage property effectively

Job Duties
- Coordinate and actively manage housekeeping, maintenance, breakfast service, and guest reception departments to ensure a consistent, high quality guest experience
- Monitor guest satisfaction scores on a daily basis
- Respond to guest complaints and resolve issues satisfactorily
- Continually monitor local market and comp set and strategically calibrate rates to outperform local competitors
- Engage local community through CVB, Chamber, and other organizations to stay connected to area events
- Implement and maintain an effective sales and marketing plan
- Manage sales director to ensure group bookings, LNRs, and SMERF business
- Engage with guests to gain feedback on guest experience
- Hire, train, and develop new employees
- Delegate duties to optimize employee labor hours and minimize turnover
- Maintain all hotel departments and operations within budget
- Work with ownership to create budgets and forecasts
- Supervise deep cleaning and preventative maintenance initiatives
- Exceed brand and ownership performance standards
- Ensure all reporting is complete and meets ownership standards
- Monitor employee labor hours to avoid budget overruns
- Ensure department heads complete responsibilities and checklists
- Inspect rooms weekly with housekeepers
- Submit purchase orders timely
- Be on call 24 hours a day to assist with hotel issues
