The role focuses on restaurant leadership and management within an upscale dining environment. As a manager at Ruth's Chris Steak House, you will be entrusted with maintaining the immaculate appearance and safety of the restaurant, supervising all front-of-house operations, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience that aligns with the brand's high standards. Responsibilities also include administrative duties such as financial reporting, budget management, staff scheduling, and communicating important operational information to corporate and regional leadership. The successful candidate will lead by example, motivating and coaching team members to uphold company standards while fostering a positive work environment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five years restaurant management experience preferably in upscale dining
- Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts and be on your feet for at least eight hours
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to work in temperature extremes and noisy environments
- Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong guest service orientation and communication skills
- Ability to develop staff and foster teamwork
- Willingness to attend ongoing training and development programs
- Valid food safety certifications preferred
- Ability to respond quickly and maintain professionalism under pressure.
Job Qualifications
- Extensive experience leading a high-volume, upscale concept restaurant
- Knowledge of wine, experience as a sommelier preferred
- Servsafe Food and Alcohol certification preferred
- Some culinary experience or training a plus
- Formal business education or a restaurant management degree a plus
- Above average computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional guest service and lead a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage budgets and analyze financial data
- Leadership skills to motivate, train and develop staff
- Experience in planning marketing and community engagement activities
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and adapt to changing demands.
Job Duties
- Conduct facility walk through to ensure a clean, safe and guest-friendly atmosphere and ambiance
- Complete administrative office work including answering emails and voicemails, entering sales reports, paying invoices and checking deliveries
- Review previous day’s sales reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Communicate effectively with management team, Regional Vice President and corporate staff about operational matters
- Review daily reservations and events for appropriate staffing
- Perform kitchen and bar line checks for quality and inventory needs
- Set and achieve budgeted sales and profit levels, review financial results and take corrective actions
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to discuss menu changes, promotions and staff issues
- Provide motivational leadership and communication to staff
- Rotate through restaurant stations to monitor activities and give feedback
- Interact with guests to ensure satisfaction and resolve complaints
- Complete closing duties including tip entry, sales reporting and closing procedures
- Facilitate weekly manager’s meetings for staffing, development and training
- Monitor inventory par levels and ordering procedures
- Plan and conduct local marketing and public relations activities
- Recruit, hire and train staff in accordance with company programs
- Write and conduct performance reviews, create development plans and follow up on goals
- Coordinate banquet and special event planning
- Attend training sessions to enhance business and professional skills
- Build community relationships to promote brand awareness
- Develop business through catering and private dining sales.
