The General Manager at Glen Allen VA HGI is tasked with overseeing the entire hotel operation to ensure that every room is online and in perfect condition each day and night. This includes conducting daily walk-throughs of guest rooms and public spaces, ensuring cleanliness and functional mechanical equipment, onboarding and training new staff, managing audits and reports, and maintaining compliance with safety standards. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license required where applicable
- Ability to work varied schedules including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred
- Experience in hospitality or related service industry preferred
- Must be able to understand and follow established guidelines
- Must be proficient in Windows operating systems and company-approved software
- Must possess strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to handle stressful and high-pressure situations

Job Duties
- Greet guests happily and use their names to enhance guest relations
- Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and urgency
- Maintain strong knowledge of hotel facilities and amenities
- Support all hotel groups and events
- Answer incoming calls with friendly service and proper phone etiquette
- Conduct daily supervision including walk-throughs of guest rooms and public spaces
- Onboard new team members and ensure adherence to onboarding processes
- Complete all daily summary and night audit processes as per policy
- Prepare and complete shift handover reports accurately and on time
- Oversee quality assurance to meet brand standards and conduct audits
- Enforce uniform and appearance standards for all team members
- Certify that all fire and life safety inspections are current and correct deficiencies
- Confirm completion and quality of preventative maintenance tasks
- Manage team members’ adherence to work schedules and shift displacement when necessary
- Build a culture of learning and provide training and development
- Deliver moment-to-moment coaching with positivity and candor
- Review team member time clock punches daily
- Manage purchase order processes and invoice signoffs properly
- Maintain clean and organized inventory in accordance with program
