Job Description
Flynn Group is a renowned leader in the restaurant franchise industry, having firmly established itself as a major player since its founding in 1999 by Greg Flynn. As the largest franchise operator in the world, Flynn Group owns and operates a diverse portfolio of iconic and world-class brands including Applebee's, Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. Among its premier brands is Flynn Panera, a franchisee of Panera Bread, which entered the Panera system in 2015 through the acquisition of 47 cafes. Since then, Flynn Panera has experienced rapid expansion and growth, more than tripling its size to become the second largest Panera franchisee globally. This growth has been fueled through strategic initiatives such as building new stores and acquiring other franchise operators.
Flynn Panera’s business model is decentralized, allowing each geographic area to be led by a Market Leader who oversees Area Directors, multiple unit operators responsible for the overall performance of the cafes within their regions. Under this leadership structure, General Managers serve as the chief managers of individual cafes, responsible for overall operations, while assistant managers and team managers support various departments and daily management activities. The company prides itself on its strong leadership team, which collectively possesses over 190 years of experience in the restaurant industry and 60 years of experience within the Flynn Group.
Working at Flynn Panera means joining a company that not only values exceptional food quality but also places emphasis on genuine care for people, teamwork, and a winning culture. The company’s mission is to be the premier operator within each of its brands by living its core values: Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One. These principles shape the work environment at Flynn Panera and foster a strong connection to the communities it serves.
The General Manager position at Flynn Panera offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team that prioritizes both customer satisfaction and community engagement. It is a role tailored for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional food experiences while driving business success. As a key leader, the General Manager supervises up to 60 staff members and is entrusted with ensuring a top-tier service experience in the cafe. This role is ideal for someone who wants to develop and hone their management skills with ample opportunities for career advancement within Flynn Panera and the wider Flynn Group network.
General Managers at Flynn Panera are expected to embody the company’s commitment to quality, leadership, and community impact. Their responsibilities range from maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food quality, and safety, to fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. The position emphasizes coaching, inspiring, and mentoring team members to achieve excellence while ensuring operational efficiency and profitability. With a steady and stable employment track record, strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to operate independently as well as part of a team, candidates are set up for success in this rewarding and fast-paced environment.
Starting at a competitive salary of $83,200 per year with additional benefits such as profit sharing, health benefits, and development opportunities, this position is designed to attract the best leadership talent in the industry. Flynn Panera values a “Run it Like you Own It” mentality, encouraging General Managers to take full ownership of their cafe’s success. The company also prioritizes physical stamina as managers are required to be mobile throughout their shifts and capable of safely lifting up to 50 lbs.
Flynn Panera is more than just a workplace – it is a community committed to fostering an inclusive environment where employees can thrive both personally and professionally. The company offers robust training, comprehensive benefits, and a culture built on respect and growth. Prospective General Managers can expect a supportive work environment with clear pathways for advancement and the satisfaction of contributing to a leading brand in the food industry. Joining Flynn Panera means being part of a premier team dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of our customers and employees alike.
