As a Hotel General Manager, you will be responsible for leading hotel staff including department heads to achieve operational excellence and high team morale. A significant focus is placed on managing day-to-day activities across front desk operations, housekeeping, food and beverage services, maintenance, and beyond. This includes developing and implementing policies for efficient hotel management, monitoring key performance indicators such as occupancy rates, revenue per available room (RevPAR), and guest satisfaction scores, and taking corrective actions when necessary.
Guest experience takes center stage in this role with an emphasis on setting high hospitality standards, promptly addressing guest concerns, and constantly innovating strategies to exceed expectations. Financial stewardship is another critical component, involving budget development and management, revenue forecasting, expense control, and identifying new opportunities to enhance profitability. Collaboration with the sales and marketing team is essential to promote the hotel's brand, engage with corporate clients and travel agencies, and boost occupancy and revenue.
Quality assurance and compliance with all relevant laws and industry benchmarks are maintained through regular audits and inspections. The general manager also serves as the hotel representative in the local community, fostering relationships with local businesses and government officials while actively participating in industry events to promote the brand and network strategically.
