As a prominent player in the hotel industry, Summit Hospitality Group focuses on optimizing property performance, enhancing employee engagement, and driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency. The company's commitment to quality is reflected in its adherence to brand standards and the implementation of best practices in property management.
The General Manager (GM) position at Summit Hospitality Group represents a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a single hotel property, specifically the Courtyard Raleigh Crabtree located at 3908 Arrow Drive, Raleigh, NC. This full-time management role demands a dedicated professional with a passion for hospitality and a proven track record in managing high-performing hotel properties. The GM is accountable for achieving optimal results in five critical areas: guest service satisfaction, profit and financial control, sales and marketing, property appearance and asset maintenance, and employee quality and morale.
The General Manager ensures that the hotel operates according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and company policies, while implementing strategic plans to boost the property's market position. This includes working closely with the Sales team to maximize existing revenue opportunities and develop new channels, as well as preparing and managing operating budgets, capital expenditure budgets, and business forecasts with the Revenue Management team. Leadership responsibilities involve managing department heads, recruiting and training qualified applicants, addressing employee relations, and fostering a positive organizational culture.
In this role, the GM must commit to a 50-hour work week, which may include weekend and evening hours, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry. The General Manager acts as a flag bearer for the brand, embodying the company’s culture where "Service is the Ultimate Amenity." They are expected to continuously monitor and improve operational processes, maintain high standards of property upkeep, ensure compliance with employment laws, and handle financial activities including reconciliation, accounts management, and expense control.
The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive experience managing national hotel brands, demonstrated success in financial performance, excellent organizational skills, and a hands-on leadership approach. Proficiency in hotel management systems such as Opera and Micros, along with strong communication abilities, are essential. This position offers a salary of $75,000 per year and provides a stimulating environment with opportunities for professional growth within Summit Hospitality Group. The role emphasizes equal employment opportunities and values diversity within the organization.
