Renowned for hosting presidents, world leaders, and inaugural balls, this renowned resort hotel boasts a rich history intertwined with the cultural and political fabric of the Nation’s Capital. Spanning 13.5 acres, the Omni Shoreham features over 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space, sprawling pristine gardens covering 4.5 acres, outdoor terraces, a pool, and a health club. Its unique location in one of Washington's premier residential and diplomatic neighborhoods makes it an attractive destination for both business and leisure travelers seeking a blend of history, elegance, and modern amenities.

The Omni Shoreham Hotel is currently seeking a General Manager to lead this iconic 836-room establishment. This position is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing all facets of hotel operations. The General Manager will manage guest and associate satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales efforts, and revenue generation to ensure a robust return on investment for ownership. The role demands a strong leader who can develop and implement property-wide strategies that align with the Omni brand’s service standards and elevate guest experiences.

As the primary business leader, the General Manager will inspire, motivate, and build a cohesive team dedicated to operational excellence. This includes fostering leadership development among direct reports, creating a positive business environment, and ensuring clear communication of property goals to produce consistent and measurable results. A key component of success in this role is the ability to analyze market position through tools such as the STR report and competitive shopping to drive strategic decisions that improve market share and revenue performance.

In addition to operational responsibilities, the General Manager will leverage Omni Hotels & Resorts sales channels and proactively engage in independent sales activities to generate demand. This role involves close collaboration with the partnership group to cultivate relationships that support the hotel’s business objectives, as well as interaction with various Homeowners Associations and Global Sales Offices. Successful candidates will bring extensive experience managing upscale, unionized hotel environments, demonstrating an entrepreneurial leadership style that balances creativity with functional expertise.

The salary range for this position is $240,000 to $270,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a General Manager in an upscale hotel environment
  • Proven experience managing unionized labor environments
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sales and revenue growth
  • Extensive experience with P&L management and financial forecasting
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders

Job Qualifications

  • 5 years minimum experience as a General Manager in an upscale environment
  • Previous experience in a similar environment and type of hotel preferred
  • Previous experience with labor relations/managing in a union environment required
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to motivate team to provide best-in-class customer service
  • 10+ years of P&L responsibilities
