Job Description
The Four Points by Sheraton Tucson Airport hotel is a vibrant and welcoming establishment owned and operated by Johnson Hospitality, an independent franchisee. Unlike corporate-run hotels, this franchisee manages all employment practices, hiring, firing, employee benefits, compensation, and other operational elements independently from Marriott International, Inc. This autonomous structure allows the team at Four Points by Sheraton Tucson Airport to maintain personalized, locally-focused management policies that enhance the guest experience and foster a dynamic workplace culture. As a leading hotel in Tucson, the Four Points by Sheraton Tucson Airport prides itself on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high operational standards, aiming to exceed the expectations of every guest who walks through its doors.
This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced and hands-on General Manager to lead the entire hotel operation. The General Manager will be responsible for driving profitability, maintaining service standards, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. This role blends operational oversight with strategic leadership, focusing on budget management, revenue control, and team motivation to ensure both guest satisfaction and financial success. Leadership responsibilities extend across all departments, including revenue and expense budgeting, profit and loss analysis, payroll approval, front office and marketing oversight, and employee performance management. The General Manager will play a key role in community engagement, local industry relationships, and corporate communication, positioning the hotel for ongoing growth and competitiveness.
To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and a proactive leadership style. They should inspire, organize, and motivate their team while maintaining a consistent focus on customer service excellence and business objectives. Technical proficiency in hotel industry software such as Excel and accounting systems, along with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, sales, employee relations, and preventive maintenance, will be critical in effectively managing day-to-day operations and long-term planning. A deep understanding of industry performance metrics will support informed decision-making and ongoing improvements.
Aside from operational duties, the General Manager is expected to uphold exemplary guest relations by applying strategies like the L.E.A.R.N Model to guest recovery, conducting regular satisfaction surveys, and resolving complaints promptly and thoroughly. Employee development is equally emphasized, with responsibilities for hiring, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary procedures, and benefits administration.
This leadership role requires endurance, dedication, and adaptability, including a willingness to work long hours and manage complex situations with professionalism. The competitive salary range for this role is between $110,000 and $140,000, accompanied by valuable benefits including medical plans with HSA options, dental, vision, critical illness insurance, and a 401(k) plan with a 4% employer match. This position offers a rewarding career path for a seasoned hospitality professional passionate about making a significant impact in hotel management and guest satisfaction.
The Four Points by Sheraton Tucson Airport is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees can thrive. This General Manager opportunity is perfect for a driven and experienced hotel leader ready to elevate their career by leading a premier property in Tucson's vibrant hospitality landscape.
