Job Description
TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants (TSFR) is a respected and established restaurant management company known for its dedication to delivering exceptional guest experiences through well-led and efficiently operated dining venues. TSFR aligns its operations with a clearly defined Roadmap that includes a Core Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Core Values, which guide its team toward consistent excellence and growth. The company takes pride in fostering a culture where leadership, responsibility, and employee development are prioritized, ensuring that each restaurant not only meets but exceeds operational and financial goals while maintaining a positive and welcoming environment for both guests and employees. TSFR’s focus on community involvement, accountability, and innovation makes it a leading force in the multi-unit restaurant management sector, emphasizing sustainability and excellence at every location.
The General Manager (GM) position at TSFR is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations and financial performance. Reporting directly to the Area Director, the GM leads both managers and hourly team members, ensuring adherence to company standards, operational policies, and safety regulations. This position demands a blend of strategic insight, hands-on management, and strong interpersonal skills to successfully manage restaurant resources, deliver superior guest service, and maintain a productive workplace. The GM serves as the face of the restaurant, driving a culture aligned with TSFR’s vision and mission while achieving business objectives.
To qualify for this role, candidates must have prior experience as an Assistant General Manager or a General Manager within a similar restaurant organization and have completed Apple II Management training, which equips them with advanced managerial capabilities relevant to TSFR's operational requirements. The role requires expertise in multi-unit restaurant management, business acumen, and the ability to champion change effectively to meet evolving market demands. The General Manager is tasked with maintaining rigorous standards for product quality, customer service, and team member development, including recruitment, training, performance management, and compliance with company policies and government regulations.
This leadership position also carries significant responsibilities for financial oversight, including managing budgets, controlling assets, monitoring inventory and costs, and analyzing operational systems to enhance profitability. The GM leads initiatives to foster teamwork, employee growth, guest satisfaction, and community engagement, while also ensuring restaurant safety, security, cleanliness, and maintenance standards. The role requires an individual with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The General Manager must be self-motivated, accountable, and goal-oriented, with the flexibility to adapt swiftly to change and lead the team by example.
Physically, the role involves considerable activity, including standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and operating various equipment. Mentally, the position requires resilience under stress, effective communication skills, and critical thinking to address daily challenges and complex operational issues.
Being part of TSFR means committing to a guest-obsessed culture that values professional development, operational excellence, and community involvement. The General Manager plays a key role in exemplifying these principles, maintaining a positive image for the company, and advancing the long-term success of both the individual restaurant and TSFR as a whole.
