The General Manager position at Sunset Coast Provisions is a vital leadership role responsible for overseeing all daily retail operations and ensuring that the company’s retail locations run efficiently and profitably. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required or relevant experience
  • Prior experience managing P&L for significant retail operations
  • Knowledge of cannabis industry regulations preferred
  • Ability to interpret state and local cannabis laws and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing high-growth and multi-site retail locations
  • Financial and data analysis skills to understand internal and external financial influences
  • Proven capability to utilize data for business decision-making
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written

  • Proficiency with Excel and point of sale systems

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Partner with the Director of Operations and executive team to build and execute retail strategy
  • Ensure consistent retail experience and customer engagement across merchandising, marketing, training, compliance, human resources, and finance
  • Adhere to and promote a culture of compliance with state and company regulations
  • Lead cannabis product procurement and related processes
  • Oversee purchasing, pricing, and sales of inventory daily, weekly, monthly, and annually
  • Improve operational systems, processes, and policies to support company mission
  • Provide guidance and training to store leaders on business metrics and continuous improvement strategies
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure clear direction and training for the store
  • Lead performance management and talent development initiatives
  • Foster a workplace culture of excellence, service, and passion
  • Drive sales, profitability, and gross margin
  • Oversee store’s profit and loss and collaborate with data analytics on sales trends
  • Manage budgets including expenses, deposits, accounts receivable, and profit and loss
  • Ensure loss prevention and security protocols are followed
  • Set sales targets and implement plans for achieving KPIs
  • Communicate regularly with senior leadership and prepare reports
  • Manage and train staff on point of sale system
  • Create daily work schedules for optimal employee utilization
  • Oversee day-to-day store operations
  • Support staff training in compliance with company and state requirements
  • Participate in marketing efforts for community engagement, promotions, events, and customer communication
