This opportunity is for a General Manager position at Caribou Coffee. As a General Manager, your primary responsibility is the financial performance of your store, including driving sales, managing expenses, and ensuring profitability. You will lead by example, fostering a culture that prioritizes team engagement, clear communication, and operational excellence. A key part of your role is ensuring that your team understands their roles and responsibilities, motivating them to meet and exceed goals while delivering an outstanding guest experience. You will be involved in scheduling, staffing, coaching, training, and holding team members accountable to maintain high standards of performance and guest satisfaction.

In addition to people management, you will oversee supply chain processes, inventory management, and cash flow control to minimize loss and maximize efficiency. Your leadership will be crucial in managing budgets, analyzing financial trends, and making data-driven decisions to optimize store success. The General Manager also upholds rigorous standards in safety, sanitation, and health protocols to ensure compliance and protect employees and guests.

The role demands flexibility in working hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, averaging around 47 hours per week. Compensation ranges from $20.82 to $39.77 per hour, subject to local and state minimum wage regulations. Caribou Coffee seeks candidates with at least 1-2 years of management experience in restaurant, retail, or guest service environments, reliable transportation, and a readiness to learn new systems and tools. Preferred qualifications include ServSafe certification, experience with P&L statements, recruitment, training, and familiarity with various store systems.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of restaurant, retail, or guest service management experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work full-time (47 hours per week) including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to learn new systems and tools
  • Able to bend, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, stand 4 to 8 hours
  • Capable of fulfilling physical job demands with or without accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of restaurant, retail, or guest service management experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work full-time including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to learn new systems and tools
  • ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 90 days preferred
  • Experience with sales building, P&L statements, recruitment, and training preferred
  • Knowledge of store systems such as Toast, CrunchTime, GoSpotCheck, EcoSure, TeamworX, Medallia, Workday, Beekeeper preferred
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Ensure the store is fully staffed for upcoming shifts, including scheduling and bench planning
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team through goal setting, accountability, and coaching
  • Execute and complete role-based training programs and onboarding initiatives
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and recognition to support team development
  • Model and uphold company policies, ensuring a safe and supportive environment
  • Lead team members to deliver outstanding guest experiences through culture and empowerment
  • Manage store performance by driving sales, profitability, and operational excellence
  • Oversee supply chain processes, inventory, and asset management
