The General Manager at Jimmy Johns plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of the store while upholding the brands high standards. This Bonus-eligible position requires a self-motivated individual with superior leadership skills who can execute systems and procedures with 100% integrity. The General Manager oversees all aspects of in-store operations including staffing and scheduling, food safety adherence, inventory and stock ordering, cost of goods sold (COGS) management, cash handling, and ensuring rigorous brand compliance. They are responsible for maintaining the store in exceptional order and guaranteeing that all employees perform their duties properly and efficiently.

In this comprehensive leadership role, the General Manager directs team members by coaching and task-managing employees on operational responsibilities and providing ongoing training for Assistant Managers, Person In Charge (PIC), InShopper, and Delivery Driver positions as needed. The role demands acute organizational skills to establish priorities within the store with minimal supervision, especially in a fast-paced and high-stress environment. Familiarity with essential business software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat is expected to support administrative functions.

Additionally, General Managers must possess the physical stamina to handle the operational demands of the position, including lifting up to 40 pounds regularly, standing, bending, and navigating walk-in refrigerators and freezers with temperatures ranging from 40 degrees Fahrenheit to -10 degrees Fahrenheit. With a focus on both people management and operational controls, this position is key to driving business success, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining the quality and integrity of Jimmy Johns products and services.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work a 40 plus hour week
  • At least 18 years of age with valid driver license and clean driving record
  • Jimmy John Manager Certification
  • ServSafe Manager Certification
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to perform, teach and train all aspects of Assistant Manager, PIC, InShopper and Delivery Driver positions
  • Ability to handle fast-paced and high stress situations
  • Ability to organize and establish priorities with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to coach and task-manage employees
  • Must have a valid driver license, car and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 30-40 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach and scoop throughout shifts
  • Ability to work in refrigerator and freezer environments with temperatures from 40 degrees Fahrenheit to -10 degrees Fahrenheit

Job Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in a retail or food service environment

Job Duties
