With a strong focus on quality food, excellent customer service, and an inviting environment, Goode Company has built a loyal following and continues to grow as a leader in the casual dining sector. The company prides itself on a culture of ownership, high standards, and fostering a positive work environment where team members are empowered and motivated to perform at their best. Known for its authentic flavors and commitment to excellence, Goode Company Kitchen & Cantina has become a destination for both locals and visitors seeking an outstanding dining experience.
The role of General Manager at Goode Company is a pivotal leadership position that embodies the true spirit and operational excellence of the restaurant. As General Manager, you will represent the brand's values and vision at all times, serving not only as a manager but as a leader who inspires and engages the entire team. This role requires a hands-on approach where you oversee all facets of restaurant operations including guest service, product quality, safety, financial management, and personnel leadership. You will act with the ownership mentality, making decisions as if the restaurant were your own business, and taking full accountability for the results.
In this position, you will lead a diverse team by fostering open communication, driving high standards for hospitality, and ensuring every guest receives an unforgettable experience. Your responsibilities include managing daily service evaluations, resolving customer issues with professionalism and empathy, and maintaining rigorous quality control of food preparation and presentation. You will also be tasked with safety compliance, conducting training to uphold health codes and workplace safety standards, and ensuring that the restaurant environment is safe and well-maintained.
Financial stewardship is a major component of the role, where you will manage the profit and loss statement, analyze financial reports, and implement cost control measures to meet and exceed sales targets and budgetary goals. Your leadership will extend into recruiting, training, and mentoring staff, cultivating future managers who embrace Goode Company’s legacy and mission. You will collaborate closely with corporate leadership to align operational goals and execute strategic initiatives, while inspiring your team to achieve excellence.
The General Manager must possess strong analytical skills, business acumen, and a deep understanding of restaurant operations, especially in a high-volume full-service environment. Experience with inventory control, vendor relations, and live-fire grilling techniques will set you apart. Certified in food safety, allergen management, and TABC, you will ensure every aspect of the operation meets the highest standards expected by Goode Company and regulatory agencies.
This is a career-defining opportunity for a passionate leader who thrives in a dynamic and challenging environment. If you are committed to excellence, have a genuine hospitality mindset, and want to make a lasting impact within a beloved Houston legacy brand, Goode Company Kitchen & Cantina is where you want to be. The company offers competitive compensation and a range of generous benefits including health insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and more. Join Goode Company and be part of a team that values leadership, ownership, and continuous growth.
