Job Description
Wendy's is a leading fast-food restaurant chain renowned for its quality food, exceptional customer service, and commitment to community values. Founded in 1969, Wendy's has grown into one of the most recognized brands in the quick-service restaurant industry. With thousands of locations worldwide, Wendy's prides itself on offering fresh, made-to-order meals that prioritize taste and customer satisfaction. Known for its square-shaped beef patties, fresh ingredients, and innovative menu, Wendy's continues to set the standard for fast-food dining experiences.
This particular Wendy's location, situated at 2350 Main St, Baytown, TX, is part of a vast network of franchise stores independently owned and operated. While benefits, compensation, and career advancement opportunities can vary between franchise owners and company-owned locations, the overall brand commitment to quality and hospitality remains consistent. The restaurant provides a welcoming and dynamic environment where team members are empowered to grow and excel in their roles.
The General Manager role at Wendy's is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the overall success and smooth operation of the restaurant. Reporting directly to a District Manager, the General Manager is entrusted with overseeing daily restaurant functions, ensuring financial controls are maintained, and that each shift meets its designated business goals. This includes managing staffing schedules, hiring, training, and developing team members to create an effective and motivated workforce.
The General Manager embodies the Wendy's Way by fostering a "Customer First" attitude among employees, delivering an outstanding service experience that encourages guests to return. This role requires a strong commitment to quality standards, food safety, and health regulations to maintain a safe and clean dining environment. The General Manager also plays a critical role in promoting a culture of continuous improvement by coaching and counseling staff, handling team relations proactively, and making sound operational decisions.
Growth opportunities are abundant within Wendy's, allowing General Managers to advance their careers both within the restaurant operations and beyond. The company invests in paid training programs designed to equip managers with the essential leadership skills and knowledge necessary to succeed. Competitive pay combined with monthly bonuses underscores the value Wendy's places on effective management and business success.
Other perks include employee discount programs and complimentary meals during shifts, reflecting a workplace culture that appreciates and rewards its team. Comprehensive benefits options such as medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with employer matching are offered, enhancing overall employee well-being and financial security.
In this challenging and rewarding role, the General Manager must embody leadership qualities, problem-solving ability, and a passion for fostering team development. They are expected to utilize restaurant tools efficiently, maintain brand standards rigorously, and meet financial targets while providing exceptional guest experiences. The position requires physical stamina to stand and move throughout the shift, as well as food safety certification (SERV Safe) either obtained or willingness to acquire it promptly through training.
Wendy's is committed to equal employment opportunities and reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Prospective General Managers must be at least 21 years old, with reliable transportation to travel occasionally between locations such as restaurants and area offices for training or business needs. This is an excellent opportunity for leaders eager to drive operational excellence while contributing positively to a beloved and growing brand in the quick-service restaurant industry.
