Job Description
Wendy's is a renowned fast-food restaurant chain with a rich tradition of quality, customer service, and community engagement. As one of the largest and most well-known fast-food franchises globally, Wendy's has built a reputation for serving fresh, made-to-order food in a friendly and welcoming environment. The company prides itself on its commitment to high standards for quality, service, and cleanliness — the pillars that have driven Wendy's success and strong brand loyalty for decades. This establishment, located at 235 W. Northside Dr, Jackson, MS 39206, is part of Wendy's extensive network of franchise-operated restaurants. Each franchise is independently owned and operated, which means that compensation, benefits, and career advancement opportunities may vary compared to company-owned locations. This particular location emphasizes a customer-first approach and strives to deliver an exceptional dining experience while maintaining operational excellence and strong community ties.
The General Manager role at this Wendy's location is a full-time exempt position that requires dedication, leadership, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant operations. The General Manager is chiefly responsible for leading the store to achieve sales, profit, customer satisfaction, and adherence to company standards. This multifaceted role involves the hands-on management of all store functions — from staffing and training personnel to enforcing operational procedures that uphold Wendy's standards for quality, service, and cleanliness. The General Manager coordinates local marketing efforts to ensure the store remains competitive within the market and leverages community engagement to enhance brand presence. A significant aspect of the role includes budget management, which involves setting and meeting monthly financial goals and analyzing profit and loss statements to optimize the store's performance.
Leadership and development are central to this position, requiring the General Manager to guide a team of managers and crew members through training, mentorship, and performance management. Responsibilities involve recruiting qualified team members, ensuring there is adequate bench strength in management, and fostering a positive work environment that encourages employee retention and growth. The General Manager must be capable of resolving customer complaints promptly, maintaining high levels of customer service, and reinforcing company policies regarding health, safety, and labor compliance. Physical aspects of the job demand standing for extended periods, conducting inspections, lifting supplies, and working in varying temperature conditions common in food service environments.
Wendy's offers competitive benefits to support the wellbeing of its General Managers, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life coverage, short-term and long-term disability, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan. These benefits highlight Wendy's commitment to providing its leadership team with comprehensive support that values their health, security, and long-term financial growth.
This role is ideal for leaders with 1-2 years of restaurant management experience who are passionate about delivering excellent customer experiences while efficiently managing operations. The General Manager must possess strong organizational, financial, and interpersonal skills, backed by a solid knowledge of Wendy's systems and procedures. A college degree or equivalent operational experience is preferred, alongside the ability to adapt to the dynamic demands of fast-food restaurant management. This opportunity offers career growth potential within one of the largest and most respected quick-service restaurant franchises in the world.
