Job Description
This job opportunity is with a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee licensed to use McDonald’s logos and food products. Unlike McDonald’s USA, which is a separate entity, the franchisee is the direct employer responsible for all employment matters, including hiring, firing, supervision, and scheduling. McDonald’s USA has no involvement in employment decisions at this location, and the franchisee operates as its own company. Working here means being part of a team dedicated to serving delicious food with great service and cleanliness that meets McDonald’s high standards. This is a chance to join a respected brand known worldwide, but with the entrepreneurial spirit and unique management of a local business owner.
This role is for the General Manager position, which is a key leadership role in the restaurant. The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant while ensuring the highest standards of quality, service, and cleanliness are met consistently. This is a high-level position that involves strategic planning and operational oversight. The General Manager collaborates with their own leadership to set achievable goals for the restaurant and creates a clear plan to accomplish those goals. Leading a team of Department Managers is a critical part of this role; the General Manager supports these managers by helping them set their objectives, monitoring their progress, and offering coaching to enhance the performance of their respective departments.
Moreover, the General Manager plays a vital role in recruiting and developing both Department and Shift Managers to ensure the restaurant has a strong leadership pipeline ready for the future. Ideal candidates for this position typically have prior experience managing high-volume quick-service restaurants, or similar experience in hospitality or retail sectors. The minimum age requirement for managing a corporate-owned location is 18 years.
This position offers competitive pay along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to attract and retain talented individuals who want a career rather than just a job. Benefits include paid vacation days, paid holidays, sabbaticals after ten years, and education assistance programs like college tuition support and opportunities to earn a high school diploma or English as a Second Language courses. Additionally, employees enjoy medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as life, accident, and disability coverage. Flexible spending accounts for pre-tax contributions and various employee recognition programs are also part of the package.
Working here means being part of a culture that values energy, purpose, and continuous growth, allowing employees to build skills and advance their careers. Whether you are looking to develop leadership skills, get coaching experience, or simply be part of a thriving team operating a business that serves up great food and feel-good moments, this role provides the platform to grow and succeed. It’s a dynamic work environment where your contributions directly impact the customer experience and the restaurant's success. If you want a fulfilling career with advancement opportunities and solid support from a franchise that embraces McDonald’s trusted brand and resources, this General Manager role may be the perfect fit for you.
