Job Description
This job opening is with a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee licensed to use McDonald's logos and food products. It is important to note that this franchisee operates as a separate company and employer from McDonald's USA. As such, the franchisee, not McDonald's USA, is solely responsible for all employment matters including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald's USA does not control employment decisions, receive employment applications, or participate in interviews and hiring processes. This ensures that employment decisions are made directly by those who manage the individual restaurant location, fostering a personalized and community-focused working environment.
The position available is for a General Manager who will be instrumental in running a profitable and high-functioning McDonald's restaurant. This role is ideal for an individual seeking a satisfying career with substantial opportunities for growth, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits. The General Manager will lead efforts to uphold McDonald's critical customer standards in quality, service, and cleanliness, which are vital for maintaining brand reputation and customer satisfaction. By setting clear goals in collaboration with their leadership, and crafting executable plans, the General Manager will drive the restaurant's performance and success.
Leadership is key in this role. The General Manager will oversee a team of Department Managers, each responsible for specific operational areas. The General Manager's duties include supporting these managers by assisting them in setting goals, tracking their progress, coaching for improvement, and generating strategies to enhance departmental performance. Improving each department ultimately improves the entire restaurant's operation and guest experience.
Additionally, the General Manager may also be tasked with hiring and developing both Department and Shift Managers. This responsibility ensures the restaurant is continually staffed with competent leaders developed in-house, ready to propel the restaurant forward. Candidates for this role ideally have previous experience managing high-volume quick service restaurant locations, with a background in hospitality or retail considered valuable. A minimum age of 18 years is required to fulfill managerial duties at corporate-owned McDonald's restaurants.
The compensation for this position ranges from $55,000 to $65,000 per year, plus bonuses and benefits, reflecting the importance and complexity of the role. In addition to competitive pay, General Managers at McDonald's Corporate owned locations are eligible for a robust benefits package providing paid vacation, educational opportunities including high school completion and college tuition assistance through Archways to Opportunity, medical, dental and vision coverage, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, disability, life, and accident insurance, paid leaves of absence, service awards, employee resource connections, adoption assistance, and a matching gifts program.
This role offers a unique chance to join a dynamic team where energy, purpose, and growth are valued and encouraged. Whether you are starting your career path or advancing to new heights in quick service restaurant management, this role is designed to support your professional development. With targeted job training, leadership coaching, and opportunities to pursue education, you can achieve personal goals and a stable future. Here, you can truly move forward in a career that inspires your best work, supports your ambitions, and respects your individual strengths and aspirations. If you are ready to make a confident move toward a fulfilling managerial career, consider this opportunity where you can bring your leadership skills and passion to a respected, well-known brand managed by a driven and supportive franchisee team.
