Job Description

The hiring establishment is a restaurant operating within the Burger King Corporation (BKC), a renowned global fast-food chain recognized for its flame-grilled burgers and exceptional guest service. As a prominent leader in the quick-service restaurant industry, Burger King focuses on delivering consistent quality, value, and a welcoming guest experience. The company continually strives to maintain its position through innovation, operational excellence, and community engagement. The work environment within the restaurant is fast-paced, team-oriented, and driven by a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Burger King offers employment opportunities that include day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts to accommodate its dynamic operations. The employment type for the Restaurant General Manager position is full-time, which provides a comprehensive leadership role at a single restaurant location.

The role of the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) is pivotal in driving the success and profitability of the restaurant. This leadership position carries overall responsibility for managing daily operations, ensuring that financial, operational, and guest service goals are met consistently. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the RGM oversees a team of 20 to 45 employees including Assistant Managers, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and Team Members. The RGM has primary accountability for the restaurant's profit and loss (P&L) performance, actively managing financial outcomes by reviewing key P&L lines and implementing strategies to increase profitability.

The RGM is also highly focused on the guest experience, motivating the team to deliver prompt, friendly, and accurate service in a clean and welcoming environment. Managing guest feedback and resolving issues promptly are key aspects of the role to ensure customer satisfaction and foster repeat business. Additionally, the RGM plays an active role in engaging the local community and executing marketing initiatives to attract prospective guests.

People management is another critical area of responsibility. The General Manager leads recruitment and selection efforts to build a strong and capable team. The RGM is responsible for onboarding new team members, delivering training and certification programs, and inspiring staff through recognition and coaching. By providing ongoing feedback and development opportunities, the RGM helps increase team capability and overall restaurant performance.

Operational management responsibilities include optimizing staffing schedules for managers and team members, ensuring adherence to government regulations, employment laws, and Burger King corporate policies. The RGM ensures the restaurant maintains operational and brand standards at all times. Additionally, when necessary, the RGM performs duties typically carried out by Assistant Managers and Hourly Shift Coordinators to maintain smooth operations.

This position demands strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of P&L management, the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, and a deep commitment to guest service excellence. The RGM must also be flexible to work long, irregular shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support the restaurant's operational needs. Burger King promotes equal employment opportunities and encourages qualified applicants to apply for this influential and rewarding management role.
