The role of a Restaurant Manager at Jimmy John's is pivotal to the overall success and profitability of the restaurant. This position involves managing all operational aspects of the restaurant, including staffing, customer service, inventory control, and food preparation. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of fast, accurate sandwich making alongside maintaining world-class customer service throughout the shift. This management role entails supervision of a team of 3 to 20 employees, providing leadership through hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining, and sometimes terminating staff members while also fostering a culture of accountability and efficiency.

In addition to staff management, the Restaurant Manager handles the delegation and responsibility of ordering, receipt, storage, and issuing of all food, labor, equipment, cleaning, and paper supplies, emphasizing the minimization of waste and theft. The ability to forecast food items and estimate consumption per shift is critical to maintain cost-effectiveness. Supervising food preparation and service operations during peak hours ensures the maintenance of restaurant efficiency. This role also involves direct interaction with customers and shoppers, assisting with transactions, assembling orders, and verifying order accuracy to guarantee excellent service delivery.

Administrative duties such as completing daily and weekly paperwork, managing cash drawers throughout shifts, conducting inventory control, and maintaining regular ordering schedules are integral to this role. The Restaurant Manager also conducts weekly managers' meetings, audits systems and procedures, and implements preventive maintenance and upkeep on the store's equipment and supplies. Creativity is encouraged, as the manager develops new ideas and collaborates with the Area Manager to drive sales and improve overall restaurant performance. Due to the dynamic nature of the job, flexibility in working overtime, holidays, and weekends is required along with physical stamina to perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending throughout the workday, and lifting up to 50 pounds. This position calls for a motivated individual committed to operational excellence and capable of leading a team to deliver superior fast-food service in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements

Job Duties
