The General Manager role at Klein Capriotti is a full-time position that plays a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards Capriotti's customers expect. Reporting directly to an Area Manager, the General Manager is the face of the company at the store level and embodies the brand’s core values in daily operations. This leadership position requires hands-on management of all aspects of the restaurant, from team building and team member development to cash management and marketing initiatives. The successful candidate will champion quality, cleanliness, and customer service excellence, ensuring every sandwich is made to exact specifications and served in an inviting atmosphere with warmth and a genuine smile.

This role commands operational excellence, focusing on labor and cost control while maximizing guest satisfaction and team morale. The General Manager will prepare schedules, balance workloads, and provide an empowering environment that encourages suggestive selling and fosters employee engagement. A critical part of the job is to maintain compliance with food safety, health codes, and security standards, ensuring the safety and well-being of both guests and team members. Financial responsibilities include monitoring budgets, managing payroll and bank deposits, and overseeing inventory and waste control.

Knowledge of POS systems and proficiency in computer applications such as email and spreadsheets are essential skills for this role. The General Manager must possess excellent communication skills, emotional resilience under pressure, and problem-solving abilities to adapt to the dynamic restaurant environment. This position also requires physical stamina since the manager will be on their feet for extended periods and must be able to perform physical tasks such as moving supplies.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency required
  • previous supervisory experience preferred
  • hospitality industry experience preferred
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including first, second and third shifts
  • physical ability to move throughout the restaurant and lift up to 50 lbs
  • experience with cash handling and bank deposits
  • ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • proficiency with POS systems and computer applications
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
