Job Description

WKS Restaurant Group is a dynamic and rapidly expanding multi-concept franchise restaurant developer and operator managing over 300 stores across 17 states. As a licensed franchisee of several renowned brands including El Pollo Loco, Wendy's, Denny's, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Blaze Pizza, and Corner Bakery Cafe, WKS Restaurant Group is dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences through its diverse portfolio of restaurants. The company emphasizes strong operational standards, consistent quality, and community involvement, making it a prominent player in the franchise restaurant industry.

This particular opportunity is with one of WKS Restaurant Group's independently owned and operated Wendy's franchise locations. Each Wendy's franchise under WKS operates autonomously regarding compensation, benefits, and career development programs, which means the offerings may vary compared to company-owned Wendys. As a franchise, Wendy's is one of the world's major fast-food chains, known for its quality fresh ingredients and a variety of signature menu items. The franchise is committed to upholding the brand’s high standards and providing a positive work environment for its employees.

The role is a Restaurant General Manager position responsible for overseeing the operations and staff of the Wendy's restaurant. This position is crucial to the successful operation of the business, requiring a strong leader who can manage daily activities while ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, programs, and systems. The General Manager is accountable for making sure objectives are met in all operational areas, from customer service and food quality to staff development and financial performance. The role demands a hands-on approach with a focus on leadership, training, and employee growth.

You will lead a team of subordinate managers and crew, providing training, direction, and development opportunities to cultivate a motivated and productive workforce. It is essential that the General Manager enforces all federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as ethical business practices, maintaining the highest standard of operational compliance. Additionally, the incumbent is expected to have a sound understanding and practical application of business functions such as Profit & Loss (P&L) analysis, planning, budgeting, and corrective measures to drive profitability and efficiency.

Wendy’s General Managers also need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. The role requires the ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, customers, clients, and the general public. Strong mathematical skills are necessary for tasks involving calculation of discounts, interest, commissions, and other financial figures, including applying basic algebra and geometry concepts.

Candidates must be prepared to obtain key certifications such as Serve-Safe and complete company-specific training programs including GM Core classes and Crew Interviewing Workshops within designated timelines. This role represents a leadership path for individuals who enjoy a fast-paced environment, team building, and operational excellence.

This is an excellent opportunity for those who have previous experience in restaurant management or a related field coupled with a solid educational foundation, such as a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Candidates should bring a blend of technical knowledge and practical skills necessary for managing a successful franchise restaurant. The position promises a rewarding career trajectory within one of the fastest-growing franchise groups in the industry, offering a culture of learning and development along with a comprehensive benefits package.
