Job Description

Wendy's is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. With a presence in thousands of locations worldwide, Wendy's has established itself as a leader in the quick-service restaurant industry by offering fresh, made-to-order meals and a welcoming environment for customers. Known for its iconic square-shaped beef patties, fresh ingredients, and a diverse menu that includes salads, sandwiches, and beverages, Wendy's continues to attract a loyal customer base and grow steadily across various markets.

Wendy's operates through a combination of company-owned and franchised locations, providing opportunities for career growth, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits to its team members. Team members at Wendy’s are dedicated to upholding the brand’s high standards for food quality and service while contributing to a positive community impact. Franchisees who operate Wendy's locations maintain autonomy over compensation and career programs, often offering unique incentives and benefits to attract and retain the best talent.

The General Manager role at Wendy’s, reporting to a District Manager, is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations to achieve financial and performance goals. This includes managing financial controls, optimizing staff schedules, and leading recruitment efforts such as interviewing, hiring, training, and orienting new team members. The General Manager ensures that the team is well-trained and motivated through coaching, counseling, and development initiatives aimed at promoting a positive and productive work environment. Ensuring compliance with food handling, equipment maintenance, and facility management standards is a key part of the role, along with making sure the restaurant meets health and safety inspections.

This position requires a results-oriented leader capable of problem solving and decision-making in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Candidates should be prepared to work approximately 48 hours per week with rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, though the restaurant is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. With a competitive starting salary of $55,000 based on relevant experience, the role also offers a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families, paid time off, and performance-based quarterly bonuses. Additional perks such as paid training, coaching, mentoring, along with a meal discount and employee recognition programs, support ongoing professional growth and satisfaction.

Wendy's expects its General Managers to demonstrate excellent leadership skills, the ability to manage high-performing teams, and a strong customer service focus. Candidates must hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent, possess valid driving credentials, and pass background screenings. Physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This opportunity is ideal for experienced restaurant managers seeking to lead and grow within an established brand that values employee development and operational excellence.
