Job Description

Einstein Bros. Bagels is a renowned bakery brand that has been dedicated to baking fresh bagels daily since 1995. As a cherished community favorite, Einstein Bros. Bagels prides itself on not only creating some of the best breakfast options in neighborhoods across the nation but also spreading joy and happiness through its welcoming atmosphere and commitment to quality. This well-established restaurant chain operates with a philosophy centered around enjoyment, togetherness, and the cherished tradition of sharing meals with loved ones. Their stores close early at 2pm daily, emphasizing a strong commitment to work-life balance for their employees, ensuring that team members never miss important family moments or personal milestones.

The role of General Manager at Einstein Bros. Bagels is a pivotal leadership position that requires overseeing all operational aspects of the store with an ownership mindset. Candidates who embrace this challenge will manage the daily functioning of the bakery, ensuring it runs smoothly from opening in the early morning hours to closing in the afternoon. This position demands a hands-on approach where the General Manager participates in all facets of store operation including baking, customer service, scheduling, inventory, and team leadership. Training is comprehensive, spanning five weeks to fully prepare new managers to meet and excel in their responsibilities.

A typical day for the General Manager begins as early as 4am to prepare for the first bake and the store opening. Throughout the day, the manager is responsible for maintaining the store’s readiness for audits, managing catering and mobile orders, and enhancing the customer experience. During busy breakfast and lunch periods, the General Manager actively supports the team in various roles to uphold service quality and customer satisfaction. After the store closes at 2pm, the manager handles closing procedures, schedules the next day’s work, orders inventory, and completes the daily deposit. This role requires a blend of leadership, operational expertise, and a passion for creating a positive environment for both customers and staff.

Einstein Bros. Bagels values General Managers with prior experience, typically between 1 to 3 years in a restaurant leadership role. The ideal candidate is adept in managing profit and loss and knows effective strategies to control food costs and labor expenses. Recruiting and developing team members is a key part of the role, emphasizing growth from within and building a strong, motivated workforce. Leadership skills include the ability to inspire fun and positive energy while meeting business objectives. The position offers attractive compensation, including competitive pay and quarterly bonuses, along with a comprehensive benefits package that supports employee well-being and future growth. This General Manager role is perfect for individuals who want to make a meaningful impact on their community, have a passion for foodservice, and seek a balance between a rewarding career and personal life.

Located at 2201 Westlake Ave Ste 101 in Seattle, Washington, Einstein Bros. Bagels invites candidates who are at least 18 years old and eager to take the next step in their career journey to apply. The hourly wage ranges from $23.65 to $35.48, subject to local and state minimum wage laws, complemented by a variety of benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
