The General Manager role at Chipotle offers a dynamic opportunity to lead and develop a fast-growing restaurant team in an exciting and fast-paced industry. The General Manager will lead from the front, hiring and developing team members, building a winning and guest-obsessed culture, and overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations to ensure financial and service excellence. This full-time position demands a hands-on approach to people management, business operations, and community engagement. General Managers are responsible for the entire employee lifecycle, including recruitment, training, performance management, and fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

In this role, the General Manager will also direct team members to deliver accurate and timely digital orders while upholding Chipotle’s rigorous food safety, operational, and compliance standards. The position involves working diverse shifts including lunch, dinner, and weekends to provide comprehensive leadership across all hours of operation. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a passion for hospitality, people development, and have previous experience managing restaurant operations involving scheduling, profit and loss management, sales forecasting, recruiting, and marketing initiatives. Physical demands include working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, interacting with customers, standing and walking for long hours, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Job Requirements

  • Previous restaurant management experience
  • Experience with scheduling, P&L management, food safety, sales forecasting, and recruiting
  • Ability to stand and walk around the restaurant for 10 hours a day
  • Ability to lift 50lbs/25kgs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work lunch, dinner, and weekend shifts
  • Ability to work in fast-paced kitchen environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Be guest obsessed - uphold top-notch standards of excellence and hospitality
  • Ensure speed of service, accuracy, and positive guest obsessed experience
  • Be responsible for the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment and hiring, people processes and performance management
  • Train and develop crew members, shift leaders, and apprentices, utilizing Chipotle’s training tools and resources
  • Direct our team members to deliver accurate and on-time digital orders
  • Be accountable for the day-to-day operational business of your restaurant (creating and managing a schedule, P&L control and management, sales-forecasting, recruiting and interviewing)
  • Ensure the dining room remains clean and the restaurant is always guest-ready
  • Uphold food safety, operational, and compliance standards
  • Be accountable for overall financial success of the restaurant, achieving annual sales & cash flow plan
  • Work a schedule that includes lunch, dinner, and weekend shifts to provide leadership across all hours of operation
