Job Description

Foxtail at the Glenview House is an upscale, high-volume Mediterranean restaurant located at 1843 Glenview Rd, Glenview, Illinois. Scheduled to open in early spring 2026, this full-service establishment promises a rich dining experience centered around Mediterranean cuisine, a robust bar program, and a strong culture of hospitality. The restaurant is part of a growing restaurant group, promising dynamic growth opportunities and a vibrant workplace environment. Foxtail at the Glenview House aims to attract discerning guests through impeccable service standards and exceptional culinary offerings. The establishment is committed to building a high-performance hospitality culture by integrating operational excellence with visionary leadership at every level of the organization. The restaurant will emphasize a combination of ambience, quality, and guest-centric service to carve a niche in Glenview's competitive dining landscape.

The role of General Manager at Foxtail at the Glenview House is a pivotal leadership position responsible for all aspects of restaurant operations and business performance. This position requires a hands-on, operationally proficient individual who will own the day-to-day running of the business rather than merely managing shifts. Reporting directly to ownership, the General Manager will take full accountability for the financial results, guest experience, team leadership, and operational systems. The role involves managing various managers and departments, maintaining service and hospitality standards, enforcing operational systems, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. This General Manager position offers a highly competitive salary, a performance-based bonus program, benefits including health insurance, and paid time off. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in high-volume, full-service restaurant settings, particularly those with bar-driven concepts or event venues. The General Manager also acts as a strategic partner to ownership, contributing to budgeting, forecasting, growth strategies, and ensuring the restaurant scales efficiently with solid systems and strong leadership.

The General Manager’s responsibilities are multifaceted, with a focus on operational and service excellence, financial and business performance, leadership and team development, HR compliance, events management, and continuous process improvements. This role demands a leader who is not only calm under pressure and respected by their team but also obsessed with delivering outstanding guest experiences. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong financial literacy with a clear understanding of P&L, labor costs, and cost of goods sold. Familiarity with technology platforms such as TOAST POS, TOAST Payroll, RESY, Triple Seat, and 7Shifts is a plus, supporting efficient operational workflows. As an integral member of the restaurant's leadership team, the General Manager will ensure all service and operational procedures are executed flawlessly, particularly during high-volume periods and special events, contributing directly to the restaurant’s reputation and profitability.
