Job Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of two years managing a fast casual restaurant or completed Rubio's General Manager training program
  • Working knowledge of restaurant management aspects
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English orally and in writing
  • Basic math skills for financial paperwork
  • Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance
  • Reliable transportation and ability to accept assignments district-wide
  • Ability to maintain high patience levels
  • Ability to work closely with coworkers for long periods
  • Ability to provide leadership and foster teamwork
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years managing a fast casual restaurant for a major chain or completed Rubio's General Manager training program
  • Working knowledge of all restaurant management aspects
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English both orally and in writing
  • Basic mathematical skills to complete financial paperwork
  • Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to provide organizational leadership and foster team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • High level of concentration and attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Controls profit and loss (P&L) statement ensuring restaurant meets or beats budget goals
  • Prepares and manages contingency plans for business changes
  • Thinks like an owner and creates solutions
  • Plans, tracks and manages budget against projections daily
  • Analyzes financial results and adjusts operations
  • Researches, implements and oversees sales and marketing opportunities
  • Understands local market trends and participates in community organizations
  • Manages vendor efficiency and quality standards
  • Interacts with guests and resolves complaints
  • Coaches team members to ensure exceptional guest service
  • Deploys team members to maximize guest interaction
  • Creates a leadership presence in the restaurant
  • Interviews, hires, evaluates, promotes and terminates team members
  • Prepares weekly team member schedules controlling staffing levels
  • Directs and trains team members on company policies and operations
  • Communicates and manages team member performance including reviews and disciplinary actions
  • Controls and manages team member turnover fostering satisfaction
  • Ensures compliance with food and operational safety policies
  • Manages inventory quality and completes safety paperwork
  • Oversees financial paperwork and cash handling
  • Ensures adherence to company operational policies
  • Focuses time on leadership, training, and operational efficiency
  • Reports to leadership if expectations are not met
  • May perform team member duties for training or relief purposes
