The General Manager role at this IHOP location is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the restaurant's operations. This full-time managerial role focuses on enhancing both the guest experience and employee performance by implementing established programs such as the Craft Training initiative designed to elevate service quality. The General Manager is tasked with achieving financial, marketing, guest service, and human resource objectives in alignment with corporate standards and operational plans. Responsibilities include managing daily restaurant floor operations, ensuring compliance with federal and local regulations, maintaining excellent food quality and presentation, and leading effective staffing, training, and employee retention strategies.

The General Manager also oversees inventory control, equipment maintenance, sanitation, safety programs, security measures, and the execution of marketing and promotional activities. Supervisory duties include direct oversight of assistant managers, crew chiefs, and hourly staff, with responsibilities spanning from hiring and training to performance evaluations and conflict resolution. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- two to four years of related experience and/or training
- valid Drivers License
- ability to speak and read English
- ability to write reports and correspondence
- ability to communicate effectively
- basic math skills
- certification through IHOP training courses
- physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
- willingness to work in various environmental conditions
- adherence to federal, state, and local regulations
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- develop and maintain professional functional working relationships with restaurant employees, corporate and regional employees, and guests
- implement the Craft Training program for restaurant hourly employees
- execute annual financial, marketing, guest service, and human resource objectives per SOP and operational plans
- manage the restaurant floor and maintain regular guest contact
- handle guest complaints professionally and timely
- comply with federal, state, and local regulations
- recruit, train, and retain employees
- maintain food quality, presentation, and temperature standards
- manage inventory and order supplies timely
- maintain operational condition of equipment and premises
- ensure sanitation and food safety compliance
- develop and maintain a restaurant safety program
- implement security practices
- execute national and local marketing promotions
- complete required reports and paperwork
- perform other duties as assigned
