The General Manager position at Miguel's Jr. serves as a critical leadership role overseeing both front and back of house operations in a QSR setting. The General Manager leads the training and coaching of leadership staff, ensuring that all employees receive proper onboarding and continuous skill development through platforms like Ole Academy. The General Manager champions outstanding guest service, promptly handles guest recovery, and ensures adherence to all safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements. This includes compliance with food safety standards, health department regulations, Cal/OSHA guidelines, and employment laws. A safe, secure, and healthy working environment is maintained through vigilant enforcement of sanitation and safety protocols.
Team leadership responsibilities also involve recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and retaining top talent. Job Duties
- Drive daily execution excellence across back of house and front of house operations to deliver quality food, speed, and service
- Oversee all restaurant operations ensuring adherence to company systems, procedures, and operational standards
- Manage financial performance including sales, labor, food cost, inventory, and controllables to meet or exceed business goals
- Manage third-party delivery services to ensure food quality and guest service standards
- Build a strong leadership pipeline by training, coaching, and developing assistant general managers and shift supervisors
- Ensure all team members receive proper onboarding, role-specific training, and ongoing skill development
- Lead guest service standards and handle guest recovery at the restaurant level
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health department, Cal/OSHA, wage and hour, and employment regulations
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by enforcing sanitation and safety procedures
- Recruit, interview, select, and retain top talent while managing attendance, performance accountability, and corrective actions
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment
- Oversee facility condition, security systems, and coordinate maintenance needs
- Communicate daily with the Area Manager regarding performance, priorities, and challenges
- Partner with support teams to ensure alignment and execution of company initiatives
- Represent the brand in the community and support marketing and local engagement efforts
- Obtain ServSafe Certification within 30 days of hire
- Complete other duties assigned by the Area Coach
