This means that while the franchise benefits from the strong brand, standards, and products of McDonald's, it operates as its own employer and manages all employment matters independently.

The General Manager role at this McDonald's franchise represents a significant leadership position responsible for the successful daily operations of a high-volume quick service restaurant. This position requires managing all aspects of restaurant performance by upholding McDonald's critical standards of quality, service, and cleanliness. The General Manager plays a key role in setting and reaching restaurant goals, ensuring a profitable business, and leading a team to deliver excellent customer experiences consistently.

This is a dynamic leadership role that involves working closely with Department Managers and Shift Managers to set performance objectives, monitor departmental progress, and provide coaching to improve team effectiveness and operational results. The General Manager is also responsible for hiring and developing management staff to strengthen leadership capability within the restaurant and to pave the way for future growth. The ideal candidate for this role has prior General Manager experience in running busy quick service restaurant locations, or related experience in the hospitality or retail sectors.

Job Requirements

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Previous general manager experience in high volume locations required
  • Experience in quick service restaurants, hospitality, or retail strongly desired
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Previous General Manager experience running high volume restaurant locations
  • Experience in quick service restaurants, hospitality, or retail sectors preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to set strategic goals and execute plans effectively
  • Proficiency in managing budgets and financial performance
  • Ability to work flexible hours and manage a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Run a profitable restaurant that meets McDonald's high standards of quality, service, and cleanliness
  • Set restaurant goals and create plans to achieve them in collaboration with leadership
  • Lead Department Managers by helping them set goals, monitoring their progress, and providing coaching and direction
  • Hire and develop Department and Shift Managers to build a strong management team
  • Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that motivates employees and drives performance
