Sodexo is a global leader in food services and facilities management, dedicated to improving the quality of life for the communities it serves. Specializing in a wide range of service offerings including food service, environmental management, and integrated facilities solutions, Sodexo partners with organizations across various sectors such as education, healthcare, corporate, and government. Within the K-12 education sector, Sodexo plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive nutrition programs that support the well-being and success of students at school districts nationwide. The company is committed to fostering inclusive and supportive work environments where employees are respected, valued, and empowered to grow professionally and personally.
Currently, Sodexo is seeking an experienced General Manager 5 to oversee the K-12 nutrition program for York County Public Schools. This role is crucial for ensuring the daily operations across six school locations run smoothly, meeting high standards of quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements such as those mandated by the USDA Child Nutrition Program. The General Manager 5 will be responsible for guiding program enhancements, driving operational excellence, and managing financial performance comprehensively—including budgeting, expense control, revenue forecasting, labor management, and food costs.
The successful candidate will lead a team of 45 employees, focusing on talent development, recruitment, retention, and ongoing coaching to maintain a motivated and capable workforce. Collaboration with district leadership is a key aspect of the role, emphasizing partnership to continuously improve program performance and student satisfaction. Innovation is encouraged as the role involves identifying and implementing new operational strategies that foster program growth and efficiency.
Compensation is competitive and aligned with experience, education, and skill levels. Sodexo also provides a robust benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision care, wellness programs, 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, and opportunities for career growth and tuition reimbursement. As an equal opportunity employer, Sodexo embraces diversity and inclusion as fundamental values, ensuring a respectful and supportive workplace for all employees. New employees receive detailed information about benefits and support at hire.
This position requires strong leadership in K-12 operations, a proven ability to manage and analyze budgets effectively, as well as deep knowledge of school nutrition program requirements and operational processes. Excellent communication and client relationship skills are essential for success in this role. Joining Sodexo in this capacity means becoming part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to creating better everyday experiences for communities, fostering healthy learning environments for students, and supporting educational success through outstanding nutrition services.
