Job Description

Currently, Sodexo is seeking a dedicated and experienced General Manager 4 - Food to join its Government Services team located at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California. This role is pivotal in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a medium volume Mess Hall, ensuring that all activities align with both Sodexo’s standards and specific military requirements such as those of the Air Force. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the General Manager will lead operational management efforts, manage contract compliance, and deliver high-quality food service to military personnel.

The General Manager role is designed for a proactive leader with a robust background in food safety, sanitation, and contract management within a unionized environment. This role demands strong strategic planning skills to meet and exceed financial and operational goals, as well as the ability to coordinate diverse teams toward a common objective of exceptional customer service and operational excellence. The successful candidate will bring a history of effective leadership and possess the ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining professional communication and a passion for service. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years functional experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Background in food safety and sanitation compliance
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and demonstrate professional communication skills
  • Passion for high level of customer service
  • Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed
